I have a match today against this formation which i'm not familiar with:

1. What is this formation called?
2. Which formation you suggest against the above?

Use the butterfly formation

Normal mentality, down both flanks with mixed passing, normal tackling, zonal marking. No counter, no offside trap

I agree with dv8r, but the butterfly has only 1 ST. 4-4-2 could work, it depends on the teams involved, but it's a very defensive formation, it's good to make use of AMs or DMs.
