Only Midfielders from youth academy

Why is it, that almost ALL of my youth players coming through, are midfielders, and no youths have any special skills?
Or is this yet another way to force me to buy tokens to waste in the transfer market?

I only promote my youths now and cant remember when i last actually bought a player from the market as i have wasted enough of my rent money on Top Eleven, but in my squad i have 13 midfielders, 5 defenders (two of those were the last players i bought and are approaching their 30's, and below my teams average skill), and 3 strikers.
This obviously doesn't include all the other poor, but free, 2-star mids that i get with the average players, who i then immediately sell to top up that pointless $1,290,000,000 bank account of mine.

So basically, is there a reason i seem to be getting only midfielders, and none of them have any special skills? If every club in real life just pumped out average youth players lacking any skills, there would be no Messi's or Ronaldo's!

You want to have special skills for your player, You must upgrade skills for your player.

that's right, You can train your players at least three more locations more.

Till last year I was getting only DCs, that is for 7 seasons only DCs, not even DL/DR, only DCs. It didn't matter as I never had enuf tokens for them. The free ones I signed and sold. I once kept one as he was better Q than my sub.....

that's the only way the game could keep going.. spend money if you want instant upgrade for your player and be patient if not

I recently got a 3* double position tokened player. The extra position is more important than SA.
