Haha, its not just you, it happens to me too.
Have you ever noticed when you sell a player too they normally go within 2 or 3 rounds too. When you go to buy them though, its a lot more...
lol it happens to me too all the time .
I've been trying the strategy suggested in another thread by BigB79, and that's to bid like a bot.
and wow, it's been working, I've used it twice now, bidding every round with exactly 15 seconds to go, both times 7 or 8 other bidders have been in at the start and I got both players won by the end of round 6. Maybe just luck but .. I think bidding like a bot works and scares other bidders off : D
So cheers BigB79 for the idea ... and bid like bots people .. it may just work ))

Thats my server from 5-10pm can't buy any players lost 20T on my second team .
Wow, that is harsh. I'd also not be comfortable bidding against someone who's photo is the greyed out guy that is used when no "real" pic is uploaded - as I'd be worried I'd be against either a bot, a spam account or someone trying to get me to waste Tokens.
I've even used the grey pic myself before when doing bidding and noticed slightly better results when trying to get players. I think that puts a few others off too as if they can't see a face to the bidder it makes them question who they are in a battle with.
That guy paid 3.42M for the player with 1.58M market value? That's crazy. On my server I don't even look at the players with selling price just 10% below their market value. For example my last signing was 2 tokens and 3.57M for the MC with 5.1M market value.
And my whole team is just like that.
Happens with everyone one or the other time,I sometimes see really good players go in 2 or 3 knockout rounds but when I try to get one it usually goes overboard so I stop myself from entering into a bidding war :p
I always bid with 15 seconds to go - Other than sceptics thinking you may be a bot it also shows that you are committed to the auction - The advise i would give others is to avoid bidding against Asians, they are crazy! They all seem to be crazy gamblers that will stop at nothing to get there prize. Its like trying to get on a roulette machine at the bookies, they play all day and seem to have money coming out there ears. It was an Asian fellow that took me on my longest adventure way down in bidding round 53 before i gave up.
Put my striker on sale before going to bed last night for around 4.5M ( Market value 4.92M). Woke up this morning and noticed my bank balance has rocketed. He finally got sold for 9.82M . Me, I am not complaining :) . Auction won by someone from Thailand.
I avoid bidding with Israelis, Vietnamese, Thais and Indonesians. Even when playing in cup or CL base on experiences I realize they have many (sometimes up to 8-10) supporters viewing the match. There was few times in the 1st half score was level or I was leading by 1 goal but when 2nd half start and my opponents have many supporters and gain 2% with each supporters and I loss the match by 3-4 goals.
when i bid and come against Thai player`s was nitemare but won one bid and now when bid think i have rep now amongst Thai community don`t get involved when spagger`s bids just run for hills :)
And I got 3 strikers about the same market value (around 4-5M) each for 9.5M for all 3 of them. The last one has 4.9 market value and I paid 3.5M for him. My team value is 60M and I paid for my players 40M at most. So I'm wondering why is that possible? Does it depend on server, time of the day or level? Should I expect more bidding wars when I move to the next level (I see you're level 5, and I'm level 4 right now) or that's gonna be the same slow market for my level?
Every day after the server reset I see a lot of young, expensive 5 stars players, generated by the game. No one even bids on them cause they're kind of expensive for 4th level (5-7M). That's the best time to buy. Also at that time some real players set the selling price about 30% below market value, and that's when I open my wallet.
Holy bleep. Been using this "bid like a bot" technique today and it's working. Yay for anecdotal evidence.
there is competition to buy that players, :(
I always bid for Gens players and because they are very expensive there is no big competition for them .... but agree.. vietnamese and Thai is difficult to bid against... its important to set up how many tokens you want to bid and not to bid for dignity :D
don't bid againts a vietnamese, they take your pick your team, and if they see you bid againts they will bid with out thinking. just to see you scare of them and next time nobody bid againts them. they have a large comumity
i'm vietnamese too, don't bid againts me :)) see a vietnamese, quit is the best way
