    Auction/Negotiation/Scout

So, is it better to buy a player through Auction, Negotiation or Scout?

And when I say better, I mean value for money/tokens.

Auctions are definitely the best value, but they're also the most uncertain, you could get the same players as negotiations for just 1 token at a fraction of their price, or you might have to go to over 100 rounds and pay several times their market value.

You can get pretty good players on negotiations, but it depends on how greedy the manager is.

Scouts are the most certain ones, you're sure to pay 50 tokens and some cash, so pick good players, higher value and quality, and lower age.

For me, I only go for auctions, I need about 21 players a season on a budget of 35 tokens a season, and I always get them too. I am very selective with my bids.

Bro, don't agree with your 2nd paragraph...depends on how "greedy". I posted a thread earlier to advise potential bidder to analyse the team of the Seller. Player may be a key player who was just rested or red carded. Another possible reason is the business sense. If I have just bought the player for 10T in auction, I will not sell him for 7T if I had hardly use him.

For Scouts, last season I bought a 6 star ST and 6 star MC. Both turn up performance ranging from 4 to 6 !! I was patient with them (no choice having spend 50T on each) and played them against weaker teams to gain confidence. True enough this season they are turning up 7 to 9 performance.

I've bolded part of your post which I don't understand how it relates to the topic of manager greed at all, though it does present the question: Do players not appear on the negotiations list if they are in the starting eleven?

Besides that, your way of thinking comes across as greed to me. Firstly, of course we won't sell the player if we still need them, so now the focus shifts to players we don't need. I'm happy to settle for just a token or two from negotiations. If I were to sell them on auctions, I would just get money and no tokens, so any tokens on negotiations can be seen as a bonus, the money is not as important for me.

No problem. Not really advice, though, just a reasonably thorough analysis of the three.

Haha it was what I needed! Wasn't sure what was the best way to go. I'm level 4 now and so far got away with easily buying players from Auction, but as I go higher in level now its becoming more and more competitive for players!

I'm level 15 this season, I've always been going for auctions and I manage to get what I need every season. Some seasons I manage to save some tokens for the coming seasons too. I'm Asian, though, so timing is good for me to get some players early in the T11 day.

I`m English and set my alarm, as the saying goes the early bird catches the worm, if there`s no players i want i will sod off back to bed

I`m also the same as you selective on what players i want and i won`t waste token`s in a bidding war

Lol I am English too and I start work really early (4am) so I have that little advantage of it being quiet.

Are scout players really worth it for 50 tokens though??
