442 has no counter. put red arrow in RLM, play Wing attack short passing. you'll see what am i saying

I beat 4-4-2 regularly playing 4-5-1, or 4-1-3wide-1-1 up the middle. i think that it is one of the ones that works better vs 4-4-2 but not all the time. 3-1-4-2 was like that for me as well.

try with an actice manager same star(not quality) of the best 11. see if you can win more than 50%. 442 has a weak point at the center but not really see a tatic should counter it

i wouldn't say the weakness is the middle. They say the same about 4-3N-3 having weak flanks, however the correct approach is to attack through the middle.

It really depends on the quality and I'm very sceptical about counter formations. I generally use my best formation that I can use and that tends to work for me.

i used 442 hexagonal and alway won. but i have never face a similar quality team. i don't really know
