from what I have read, players with the special abiliti play like a player one star higher than their current star in specific situations. so you have a 4* corner specialist that will play like a 5* when taking a corner. Nothing too special it seems as it is most likely a way to get you to waste tokens thinking they are much better at something when 1 star rarely makes a difference. Look at some defenses that have 1 or 2* players and they keep clean sheets, so does anything matter in this game?

Nobody knows for sure how SAs work, the players who have them should had a advantage in that kind of ability, but most of the time they seems very useless.

About Morale, for my experience, If it is to low the players seems to catch more cards and more troll results can happen.
But it is not the end of the world, i already won 3 games in a row by 8:0, 8:0, 6:0 with all the players with low moral. It probably can make the diference whend you face similar Q opponents.
