Just looking at my result for today and it turns out that my main striker is out for the next two weeks with a broken leg after being fouled in the second half. Weirdly, he just played on for the rest of the game and no auto-sub happened.

Did you have auto subs setup? They don't happen unless you set them.

as your username suggests, they have feathers? when deemed necessary they can fly around the pitch and fly? just a theory, but i have seen it happen in unwatched (except for me) games a few times per season. havent been lucky enough to see the player win MOM (Man OF the Match, now go and hang your head in shame)
