Tanking a season

I did it with my second team, level 7, and I'll never do it again

- I haven't assigned a single skill for 28 days
- I've sold all my 5* players keeping just scouts and 3*
- my quality was 51,5 (scout leves is 55)

Result:
- I 'm not playing the Champions, loosing a lot of money and not enjoying the competition
- I'm going to easily win the league with 28 wins and maybe 2 goals conceded. So I will not enjoy this tournament as well)
- Nordeus must have calculated the real skill of my top 11 players adding the non-assigned skills. For this reason I've been included in a level 9 Cup tournament, where my quality is 55.7 while the other teams average quality is 57.5, so I'll be probabily knocked out very soon

Definitely, I will never tank a season again

Great, tanking does not help the cup draw as I have just found, but 28 wins from 26 league games I would love to see that lol

I have also experienced that Everytime i tanked i was always in a tought cup draw.

Agreed, no point in tanking. Maybe the exception is when you are sure you will not quality firma CL; then, staying in your level could be moré interesting than promoting, as you are not going to play CL in any case.

i`v tank once and that was because i had no less than 5 token scout teams in my league and did not want 5th to 7th so this way the next season if i ended up with token buyers again i could compete the other advantage i had with tanking i was near top of server so few 5* players so this meant i had at least two levels above me who would sell 5* players to me but for those above they would 3/4 * players to them

I'm tanking the league this season ( lost 2 out of 2 so far ) , i'm almost certain i'm at the top of my server as 5 star players are rare as horsesh!t. Will try and get as much money out of my season with champions league tho. Next year will be interesting hopefully

Thank you Nordeus for giving me the opportunity to play on an even footing vs a level 10.

Don't worry if my team's quality is 55.1 while my opponent is 64.3, I'm very glad to face a team with 9 World Class players, 1 Superstar and 1 Legend

I dont think someone tanks to get a better cup draw. i think it has more to do with not assigning the skill points and coming in low in the league gets you a more favorable cup draw. but of course all this is not confirmed.

I always saw tanking as for non-token buyers who couldn't compete with token buyers. Tanking gives the non-token buyer a season to train their players hard to get the star rating up while staying at yhe same level for a few seasons.

As for saving skill points to get an easier cup draw. I tried it one year and although I did get a slightly easier draw it wasnt that easy. I think you would have to do it for 2 or 3 seasons to see a real difference.

I won the league last season with one of my accounts and saved all my skill points, like 650. Since I won last season, its an automatic tank season so I can get my guys back up to 4-5 stars and compete again. of course since I am tanking, I am not assigning the skill points and should have 2 seasons worth of skill points to assign at the end of this campaign. That means I should get a good cup draw based on my players be way underskilled for the level. we shall soon see

The unused SP are still assigned to the player by the game engine though. I know that from power training players and watching the speed they train decrease the instant their total points, assigned or not, break through the next * level.

I have for sure noticed the training slow down, but as I assign most of my points, could never be sure if it affects my Cup. :D

fair enough, but my point is that I will be put in an easier bracket because of the lack of stars and quality.

I know that's what you meant, but that implies the game engine doesn't recognize the points in the cup draw, even though we know it recognizes them when training, applied or not.
In a well constructed game that wouldn't happen, but this is Top Eleven so who knows...........
