You do get what Man of the match means? Its given to the best player on the pitch. How can a player get MOTM when there has been a player who has played better than him?

Happens all the time, pretty much every weekend you see teams lose, but still have an outstanding player on their side. The MotM is never given to them, always goes to a player on the winning team.

There are rare exceptions, it happened in an FA cup game last weekend.

The other exception is when the MotM is judged live and a late goal changes the game after it has been awarded.

The MotM being awarded to a player on the winning team here, may not be fair, but it is realistic and I see why it's done.
