What Dman2pt said is right its exactly the same price and number of days to go through all the seat upgrades as it is for a stadium. If you just looking at the price list you won't figure this out as the prices and times for seat upgrades change with each one purchased.

The advantages by doing it by seats are that you have a slightly bigger capacity sooner so your income is higher.

U still have to upgrade stadium at a lower price to achieve max.
Each seating upgrade reduces the next upgrade.

Nope.
EACH upgrade adds 6000 seats, in your case.

If you do them in order:
Small adds 6k for 6k total
Medium adds another 6k for 12k total
Large Adds another 6k for 18k total
Then you have one additional upgrade of 6k to reach 24k total bringing you to 157k and the same as a stadium upgrade.
