How can you offer more money then your budget?

Yesturday i saw an auction in which a guy offered 53 tokens basically as the auction went on for 52 rounds and 12 millions for a player who was worth 2 millions. When i looked at the guy's club info his budget was 3.56 millions. He was a level 3 player. How can he spend more money than his budget? I once could not give 100k more than my budget.

So what's the catch?

You can be on a negative balance for 7 days before the system starts to sell your players untill you go positive.

it comes down to tokens, he could bid if he had money in bank before he made first bid then he`s won a few transfer`s with tokens but his budget goes down then he can still bid even if he goes over his budget but he will have 7 days to get bank into black or his best player`s will be sold without him being able to stop it

ok i understand this but when i did not have the money i was not allowed to bid. I had tokens and i had like 1.5 million money the player was worth 1.6 and the auction started at 1.2. i went as high as 1.5 and then the bid button went transperant and i was not allowed to bid anymore.....was it cause i was level 2?

I've had the transparent button problem and yes it's very annoying and cannot see the reason behind it, plenty of time to bid, money and tokens to spend but just frozen out...
