Academy players

Hi everyone. I have one question.
Today I just got 2 new academy players, and for the first time I have more than enough tokens to sign a professional contract with one of them. I have an old 1 star DR, and the academy just brought me a 3 star DR who needs just few more skill points to become a 4 star player. Now, should I spend 12 tokens on this guy, or go and find other DR in auctions?
Also, speaking in general, are academy players useful at all?

Hi mate, I would buy the acadamey, player as he will train faster and he will do well for your for 3/4 seasons, sell or keep the old boy for cover only, you can try and find one on auction if you wish but while your in the lower levels trying to get a young team is better, you .will find as you go up the levels that your acadamey players are well below skill than you would like so what most managers do is release the token player and sign the not so good free one just to sell and make some cash.

Like Skidz said, generally i'd sell the free youngster.

I've never bought the premium youth academy player myself, as usually i'm savvy enough with the TM to purchase better players for the same amount, if not fewer, of tokens.

Generally, the best youth academy players cost 21+ tokens anyway, so at 14 tokens he isn't the fastest trainer anyway.

I myself, would look at the transfer market, but it's all down to whether you can train the academy player enough to make him worth 14 tokens.

It all depends on your server.
How many tokens do you need to buy a 18 years old player at your server today or in the next days?
Compare your youngters to one of your players to see is market value, and see If he really is a fast trainer or not, the price in token does not represent the training speed.
In the last 2 seasons i received 2 youngsters 3* players 1SP for next star, both for 15T and they are the fastest trainer you can get 14,5m and 19,3m for level 8 and 9.
I signed both, because i Never saw any player on server with there market value.

i won`t sign player`s that cost tokens but this early i sign non token player`s and train all season then add skill point`s at start of new season then wait for bidding war, that being said with token player if you need player for position he`s in then sign 21/24 token player`s as they fast trainer but as Sxrenity said if you can better on transfer market for less then don`t bother

Depending on player performance & the minutes they have played, a real match will almost always give more skill points than training.

i`v noticed when i train they train fast but as soon as they play game their training goes down
