    Resigning players

What is your experience with the timing of resigning players that you want to keep. At end of s2 I resigned all players I wanted to keep near seasons end & before they increased 1*.

S3 & I have a home grown 5* 22 YO fast trainer with value/wage ratio of 205. I notice his wage demands goes up generally in line with value increase & there appeared to be a bigger increase when he went from 4* to 5*, but is this always the case. As his wage is currently 7.5k & he wants 54k I believe that holding off before he reaches 6* may be worth it.

I do not see the point in signing someone at the beginning of a season, but there may be a point mid season where you resign before they increase a *.

I am interested in your ideas.

i give my player`s new contract before i assign skill saved and the reason is i save money as they want a one of payment according to there market value so if you add skill first his value will go up then you pay a hell of lot more to re-sign

yep...always resign at the start of the new season AFTER the contract has expired and BEFORE assigning skill points. This will save you money.

i`v worked out roughly that if re-new now with 8 player`s it would cost me £75 million but if i wait till first day of new season i`d save around £10 to £15 mil so that`s around 3 days wages paid with savings and when i skill on after there value will go back up

yep, dont worry too much about expired contracts, you have 7 days to renew them. they cant train/play until you give them a new contract though. if you instantly do as these guys suggested you shouldnt have a problem before the first game of the season

Is it best to save up skill points or add as you go?
When do you know they are just short of levelling up?

i replied to your thread. they usually level up when then hit a new 10 (lets say 49 is close to levelling up)

moneywise its best to save them til the new season, but if youre struggling feel free to add them as you go
