so the key is age and value. thanks guy. hurm.. if i pick a player with 4*, same value with youngster 5*.. can he catch up the 5* quality?

yes but depending on rating too for example rating goes up in 15 skill point`s so 75 skills equals next star and they go in 5 so player on 30 rated needs 75 skill point`s for rating 35 and next star where as player on 33 rated needs 30 skill point`s

What I mean by rating is the players match by match rating, or contribution to the match. A 6 vs a 7 vs a 8. Costly players do not always give you a regular 7 nor 8. The ones that do are the ones you want to keep and look for

Correct, fast learners doesn't allways mean good performers even Quality doesn't guarrantie it. Usually i am starting to regular use in my basic squad a youngster after having him around 2 seasons.
