    The age for RETIREMENT is 33 or 34...
    If he is retiring the next season then might be the contract is signed for only 1 year instead of 3......

    nope...I've renewed contracts for 2 years and then he announced retirement.

    For the OP. If he hasn't announced his retirement by now, I think your safe and he will be on your squad next year.
