Its basically putting your 10 outfield players in any of the 23 squares on the pitch. Obviously you got to have a GK.

Yes but I always said, formation don't count so much I saw at level 20 very strange formation won all 3 cups so depend.

But there are around 50 formation which really count.

I'd say around 200 myself that could be in use regularly given asymmetrical formations, But the main common ones are included in the new thread I created to try and give a quick guide to countering formations.
