League Round 13: OTTOMANS 1453 1-0 July Fourth Maher (27) MOTM: Muslera (Their GK) Just like last season in the league after winning the first 12 fixtures we slip up, We had plenty of chances early on to score but kept on missing, Then Ottomans had a good spell and got the goal on 27 minutes when Chukanov squared off to Maher, We then changed tactics slightly in the second half and created yet more chances but the Ottomans defence were able to put everything out for corners and they dealt with our corners successfully and held on to inflict our first defeat of the season in any competition. El Capo make up ground back to 3 points behind us at the midway stage.

Champions League Last 16, 1st Leg: les guerriers 1-4 July Fourth Lamb (11) Rodriguez (27) Regal (31) Papaleo (37,79) MOTM: Regal. S/O: Benayoun (63) July Fourth were too strong for les guerriers here without really playing any of our best football to be fair, Lamb struck the back of the net to give us the lead on 11 minutes before Rodriguez got a surprising leveller for les guerriers, Then Regal scored from a Petersen corner to give us the lead and Papaleo ended a run of 7 games without scoring by firing a brace with a goal in each half, Benayoun saw the red card on 63 minutes for a second bookable offence.

    Halfway League Table

As predicted, July Fourth and El Capo marching away from the rest of the league, but still a long way to go in the title race, especially we still have to play away at El Capo later on this season. Ottomans and LaFruta look very likely to finish in 3rd and 4th positions for next seasons Champions League.
