People on other threads about this exact problem have said that the counter lags behind the game, so that if you score/get a card etc. in the last few minutes it isn't counted in the statistics.

Actually I like that answer, but I think it is because a goal was scored from a free kick/set play. I have had the percentage be 200 percent.. it seems it doesn't always count shots from set play.

Well actually the statistics are off quite often...
Today I watched my game and the first Chance was one of my strikers shooting (over the goal)...
When I looked at the statistic it said shots 0:2 but the opponent did not have a single comment or whatsoever...
