League Round 14: July Fourth are just not a 26-0-0 team

    July Fourth 1-1 Jon Utd

Beattie (87) Box (88) MOTM: Dobrev.

July Fourth were completely outplayed in this fixture as Jon Utd managed to cancel out July Fourth's tactics and also play good attacking football, Only our strong defence prevented Jon Utd from going ahead in the first half and Beech had to pull of a couple of saves too. The second half was very much the same and you could tell it wasn't gonna be our day when we made 2 substitutions bringing on Watson and Miku-Zidane and straight away Watson was forced off injured and replaced by Box and we had been forced from ND to 4-5-1 V because of this... Jon Utd finally got a late goal from Beattie on 87 minutes as he broke our defence and beat the keeper to compeletely shatter our 100% league record this season... But we immediately won a corner and Petersen crossed in for Box to score an unlikely equaliser and to keep our unbeaten record in all 3 competitions intact.

We are disappointed of course and to be fair we didn't deserve to score the equalising goal either. Jon Utd deserved to win this game.

Whenever July Fourth sense an opportunity for a perfect league season, It always seems to fail.

No chance. We will have El Capo in our league and our team will be weaker in relative strength and I'm not getting anymore tokens.

This season will be our last season with an 8* team and next season will likely mark the end of the 'Platinum Era'.

    Another treble then... I guess.

Nothing is perfect. I will probably win my league with 25-0-1.

My best possible outcome for this season is now stay unbeaten in all 3 competitions. Probably fail that too.

Celtic Rangers win 3-0 away in the league to remain in pole position. Manager Midas McConnigal praises the opposition. "Any side that achieves 15 shots on goal (5 on target), 1 freekick and 5 corners from a paltry 20% possession against my team deserves respect." Bot Robot made no comment.

Tottenham FC continued there charge for the treble and make history for the club with a 2-0 win against a team 1 level higher, there was only 1Q point in the teams average so I new it was going to be tight!, I also noticed he was playing 4-4-2 flat which is a thorn in my 3w-1-4-2 formation!, 3w-1-4-2 struggles with it but this season I have been experimenting and 4-1-3w-2 has over come 4-4-2 FOUR times this season so I played it with a back up plan of changing to a 4-3-3 if I was struggling!, I set orders to hard attacking and force couter attacks and it paid divedends, Tottenham FC won 2-0, we kept a clean sheet so we are in a nice position fot the second leg. Goals from Sheringham and Hoddle did the job.
    x 17 x 5 x 1

    Double winners x 5 , Treble x 1 ...Perfect league wins 26/26 x 1 (L8).
Every comment I make on this forum is based on my own experiences and so should be taken as such!.
