Red arrows make a player more attacking - for example if you put one on a ML/R it will effectively make them play more like an AML/R and same with DL/R and DML/R. Blue arrows do the opposite - make them play more defensive, so will make a ML/R play more like a DML/R.

I have no experience of playmaker, so I can't help you with that.

red arrow: your player will step foward 1 post. example, if its MC. it will become like AMC. but at the same time, he still effective on MC.
