Selling Price Changed

Just now, put a selling price on a player for whom I received a direct bid. What happened next, I find bizarre:

Price was set at $55.1 million. 10 tokens
I look at the selling price again, and it's down to $54.2 million, 9 tokens
Once more, the player is selling for $52.7 million, 8 tokens

Does clicking on "Set Selling Price" after having done so reduce the demand? If so, why?!?

Is that not just new bids coming in, lower than your 'selling price'?
