For me... Tanking is part of the strategy to success in this game if you need to use it. If your constantly fighting against many token buyers/farmers each season and cannot buy good players from the auctions... What other options have you got left? Well at least tanking is a good option since your cutting your losses early and waiting for a better opportunity.

Also the way this game is designed, It's better to miss promotion altogether if your going to fail to get in the Champions League.

I normally wouldn't think about tanking either but it's just how the game is designed, tanking is only going to help you strengthen and develop your team without players losing stars.

i`m not worried about losing star`s it depends on you get in league and a chance for top four max, which is why i tanked one season and no hope with 5 token buyers and this season tanking because Nordeus screwed up with Champions league, giving me 3 teams that are a higher level ( i`m not the only one ), when we are suppose to meet same level teams ( no not on top of server, unless they moved me) so can`t compete next season if they do again ?

Well that's another valid reason, When you don't get favourable draws and have to face higher level clubs.

I've never had the need, but don't see why anyone would have a problem with it. Seems like the only way to compete with the token farmers/buyers.
I'd rather tank than miss out on the CL, like July Fourth, as the lost revenue would be a catastrophe.

Not sure what this poll is trying to evaluate - its usual to ask if something is good or bad or not sure/don't care OR would you do it or not do it or have you not considered it. Poll seems to try to do both but achieves neither.

However I'm sure the opinions expressed will be of more value.

Atm I could only see me tanking if I thought I'd be away for an extended period. I can understand why some ppl might want to develop a squad and farm but I'd rather fail trying than try to fail (I'd probably mess it up anyway). As long as you can't get more from tanking than succeeding then I'm happy for folks to do what's best for them.

The problem is that if you don`t buy Tokens you may not have enough Tokens and/or money to upgrade your team for next season. Not only that your players won`t loose a star but you can also save up Tokens and money during Tanking. As long as your team is competitive you won't even think about tanking.
Tanking also doesn't make your team "stronger" as in next season you will get matched with teams that are more or less equal quality.
My personal experience with tanking is not so well. Did it a few seasons ago, but in the new season Nordeus put me in a very strong league again were I tried hard to succeed but after half of the season it was clear that I wouldn't qualify for champions again.

The problem is that not everyone can BUY the players the need for the upcoming season. Not all of us are blessed with the money needed to keep a world class team going season after season, and many of us have other needs for their money and feel that wasting it on a game like this is completely idiotic when there are other things in their lives that need the money more.

Congratulations on being blessed with the extra income for wasting on this game.

I recently started tanking because I couldnt compete with a 3/4 star team and tanked in order to have a 5 star team and lo and behold, won the Cup and tied for 1st in the league(lost on GD)this past season. Didnt spend any tokens and only have enough for 2-3 replacements every season, depending on how bad I get screwed in the auctions.

People who ignorantly just buy tokens have no clue about how to play the game frugally, and therefor have no clue about why to tank and the positives resulting from it. July and Sporny excluded of course.

Tanking its out of the question for me,i am playing the game for entertainment not for the trophie, althgough welcomed, so tanking will give me a month of no interest for TE ,becides i am finding interesting only in leveling up.

You can still have interest as you still play the cup and CL while you tank the league.
