Determining unperformed players during live match

Hi, all, During a live match, how to determine who and who perform well during that match.
sometimes, i feel that player A is underperformed as i never his name never appeared from the live commentary or commentary there always showing him make mistakes, thus i make a substitution. but at last he got rating 8.

Some players got rating 5, but he scored a goal.

May i have some idea how the game works for giving players rating?

I am of the belief the ratings relate to how often a player interacts with the ball. During live match sometimes it is really hard to tell what the player's rating will be. Often my MC's will get a 6 even if they scored.

It is hard to tell from the live commentary, I usually do it off previous matches ratings. The only player you can really tell is your attacking players. If they keep missing shot after shot take them out

I can agreed with cat Harrison on the rating based on player interacts with the ball. just yesterday, my opponent's goalkeeper saved 6 attempts, and he got rating 9. few days age, i won 4-0, my opponents used 3N-4-3 and all his DC got rating 8. - hahahahah

Usually, i make sub based on level of tiredness of players or when i change the formation. sometimes, when whoever miss the chances, i take them out.

That's pretty much what I do, look for the most tired guy, unless he scored
