I usually buy later in the Season than most people, I just don't like bidding wars and less of that the later in, but you do get less of their first season with you. I also look at the market at odd hours to find out when less people are on, and then check it that time daily. Never on weekends..
Expressed above is my own opinion. ☻ Your results may vary.

True, but the best time for less people bidding on decent players is from about 11 pm to 4 am my time on my server. But it could be any time of day, depending if more of the people on your server aren't in your time zone.

I agree, if I look at the flags collected in my manager tab I can get a good feel for where my bidding opposition is - not that its 100% reliable. I usually do a final market check at 2.30 am just after the refresh & reset although its not been great for high value players recently. (I find it quite easy to wake up a strange times if I want to.) I find too that I can get a clear run on players when the market is shrinking in the hours before a reset - just gotta be lucky if there's anything worthwhile there.
Ofcourse most players log in at evening hours 8-11 p.m. GMT+2 but during the day time there are indonesians and vietnamese the most agressive bidders who'll try to f*ck you up no matter what

I'm happy to jump in on a 2 pronged attack Academy player token costs and Scout Market age & scaling.
Yes Scout Market age and training for sure! Why spend 50 tokens on a player whos only going to be a 6* for one Season because he's a slow trainer and will be a 5* the next with no chance of getting to 6* again
