Illegal formations

I've read on here many times of people complaining about losing to players using illegal formations. How is that possible?

Aren't teams DQ'd for using them?
I played a team that used an illegal formation and I got an automatic 3-0 W. And when I try to pull up the match report it doesn't allow me to because it was not played.

I was happy to have the easy W, but the only negative to it was that I didn't get any money from tickets, health packs, & injury packs. Nor did any of my players get training points

If you auto 3-0 win then you played abandoned team that never had enough player`s to fill 1st 11 either by suspension or injuries and more likely both

You got a forfeit because your opposition could not field a full team. An "illegal" formation (see Squad - Top Eleven Official Wiki) gets a penalty of 20 percent possession, which doesn't mean they will necessarily lose.

Not read all topics cat , but isn't the new update now do 20% possession if you play players out of position ?

no Talon, let`s say you have only RM out and you put say MC in you lose a little possession and that player won`t play as well

Ive seen 80/20 with what seemed like a good formation . So they must have upped the penalty for playing out of position

Ok, it seemd like a good formation but maybe there were like 8 players out of position? Huh?

I you played that team you would have probably won by 10+ difference...Which would have boosted your goal difference...

Due to the high amount of goal scored your players would have topped the assist and goal scored chart...

Plus this kind of performance would also have lifted the morale of your whole team.

So these are the disadvantages of getting a walk over...

As far as getting boosters are concerned, you got benefited in this...

Since you can play 2 extra friendlies now because the amount of condition used up in a real match >>> in friendlies......
