CHAMPION'S LEAGUE:
Academy FC hosted Real Madesu FC last night in the 2nd league of CL Round of 16 and won easily 3-0 (with subs and reserves) giving them a 9-1 aggregate score and pushing them through to the next round.
Goal - Min (Assist): Meliani - 16' (Cesani); Evangelatos - 43' (Niyokindi); Bachorksi 48'.
LEAGUE:
Academy FC (34.4*, 3rd place) played at hkn poijat (24.5*, 10th) in a league match this morning. In effort to makeup goal differential, AFC played all starters and won easily 7-0.
Goal - Min (Assist): Aminou - 5' (Casanova); Hesse - 33', 38', 54' (Elkayam); Uda - 37' (Casanova); Casanova - 70' (Bandar); Waterman - 77' (Hesse).
This wins puts AFC alone in 3rd place (2 points behind 1st and 2nd, and with a greater goal differential than 2nd). Fourth place is 3 points behind, and 5th is 6 points behind. All teams are level on matches played. Yaria FC (1st place) lost to AFC and the 2nd place team, before beating the 12th place team to stop the skid and climb back on top. AFC plays at Yaria FC for the final match of the season, which may decide the league if the current form of all teams remains the same.
Today's games. This first one, I log on and I'm losing 1-0, wut? But not to worry, I make a few changes in tactics and L. Diaz suddenly decides to become God and gets involved in EACH AND EVERY GOAL. #beastmode. Also Al-nawayseh not missing his attempts, that's actually a nice change of pace from him.
Second game was a pushover. Yeah he got a goal (and once again my two games of the day have identical score) but he was so low in Q compared to my guys I even had an AML play AMR and he still scored. Bernardes is a beast anyway. Both games everyone played well, quite happy with my squad's form. And we are through to quarters in CL!!
Tomorrow's games. First one, I don't know how he does it but he still manages to be 4th with this Q. Props to him. So I'm using B team against him and testing a formation against a 4-3-3 to see if it works. Also having Bernardes play MR instead of ML because he is a beast anywhere he goes.
This game however. Not gonna be easy, high Q player. We drew first game, I hope playing at home is gonna give me the advantage. Having my B team for the first game will be good for my best player's condition as they will have to give their all for this one. Do not concede and score at least one to not have to go through pens (biggest fear!)

League: Tonight's game was another installment in the Buffs' rivalry against Fenerbahce - its now the 4 season that they have been league opponents. The Buffs were at home, the previous encounter had ended 2-2.
These games have always been a strange affair: Fenerbahce ditch the experiments and play their favoured ND which on paper should favour Buffs' favoured 4-5-1V but the games are almost always close.
Buffs Mad prepared his charges for the early onslaught from Fenerbahce but it never came and Buffs dominated the opening exchanges. The left flank was, as always, proving to be the Buffs main threat but Striker Denis Law spurned 3 early chances. Academy graduate Baxter was enjoying some freedom and when he cut n from the left the defender had no choice but to bring him down. Archie Gemmill stepped up and floated a ball onto the head of Law and he couldn't miss that one. 1-0 after 8.
The early flurry abated and Fenerbahce came back into it. They were defending valiantly and relishing a period of midfield possession but had no cutting edge. It seemed the Buffs had their frontline wrapped up until Fenerbahce's AMC got free for once - and once was enough as be bulletted one in the top corner. 1-1 after 26.
The Buffs then resumed control and kept it. Denis Law weaved his way through for a superb solo effort on the half hour. 2-1
Buffs maintained a possession advantage and strangled the midfield while pushing on the flanks. HT came.
As the Buffs restarted, Darren Fletcher, MC, but deputising at DMC for the suspended Alan Hutton, looked lively and when the ball bobbled out from a defensive mistake he pounced to drill home the 3rd with just a minute of the second half gone. 3-1
Buffs Mad decided to give Baxter on the left a rest and a further opportunity for recent recruit Davie Cooper to get some game time. In his last match Cooper had come off the bench for a hat-trick. But this time after 6 mins he turned provider as right winger Willie Henderson finally came into the game and angled a drive in off the back post. 4-1 And Law added another 2 mins later after being fed by the dancing Cooper. 5-1.
Fenerbahce then came alive again exerting sustained pressure for the next 10 mins - and gained further consolation through striker Tosun as he curled one home at the back stick. Good control from a guy who had hardly seen the ball until then. 5-2
Hat-trick hero Denis Law made way for Ally McCoist in the final 10. McCoist went close with his first touch, screwing the ball narrowly wide. He then got closer when he ruffled the side-netting. But alas the clock defeated his attempts at a goal and the referee blew up for full time.
So the Buffs return to the top of the league with an improved GD after title rival Airfreight's narrow win against a back-marker.
Final Score: Buffs FC 5-2 Fernerbahce.
Goals: Law, ST (8, 31, 58), Fletcher, DMC (46), Henderson, AMR (56)Turan, AMC (26), Tosun, ST (73)
Bookings: \o/ feckin none \o/
Highlights: 9 rated performance from Denis Law but the team was the winner with yet again every Buffs player rating 7 or more.
