Improving quality

What is the best way to improve quality of a starting player faster? I try to put the skill points in 1 or 2 skill categories for each player but it seems that they never improve in quality. Can someone explain this to me. Thank you

Yes players vary a lot in how much they gain, the more matches they play helps to get more points, and extra training.

Each training type has an average expected gain associated with it. You can compare that to what your player gains to determine if he is slow, average, or fast.
