ideal amount of plaYERS in your squad

Last season I had 6 injured players + few of them healed immediately after injury. I barely managed to have some fresh reserves with 2 matches per day, spent all red and green packs. So much problems for 22 squad, couldn't believe that can happen....
As I have commented on another thread, 22 players are good because they enable you to use different formations, sub bad form/injured/suspended players, keep important players fresh for important matches.
I wonder what opponent thinks about my team when he faces full squad of equal/similar quallity players on every position... I'm hard opponent even for token buyers.
