Hello,
I'm a new player and I was wondering when or whe not to use the arrows.
I don't really know their purpose but I think it makes the player more offensive/defensive?
Thanks!

Yes, with a red arrow, the player will act as the position ahead of when attacking, and his own position when defending.
DR with red arrows = DMR on attack and DR when defending.
With blue arrows, DMC = DC when defending, DMC when attacking.
Strikers don't need red arrows.
Defenders and goalkeepers don't need blue arrows.
I usually only put red arrows if you are attacking on that side.
Attacking down the wings = red arrows on wide players, from DL to AML, DR to AMR.
Attacking through the middle = red arrows on central players, AMC and maybe MCs.
You'll need to balance it with some blue arrows elsewhere, though.
God Bless!

Are you sure about this? I have nothing to base it on but i thought if i set my team attacking but lets say i want to keep my LB AND RB from going forward too much then placing a blue arrow on them will mean they are more like "balanced" mentality.
Basically i thought it will set the player one step back for blue or one step forward for red from the overall team mentality?

I often use down/blue arrows on the centre DC of three, IMO it works as he drops deeper, more like a sweeper, handy against two strikers when the comment strikerX passes to strikerXX
Strange though as and not for the first time he scored today playing hard defending and counter.![]()

Sorry, I still don't understand the full meaning of the arrows. If a player have only one role (for example MC) Is it worthy to use blue or red arrows? Will he be out of place if I use any arrow on him??
up arrow... means the player will attack more but in the expense some of his defensive duties .. there is a theory which say that he will act more in position above him when having up arrow.. meaning an RM with up arrow will be RM when team lose the ball but AMR when team have the ball
down arrow the inverse of that

I'm confused. Does the arrows indicate mentality, movement or change of position?
