Buffs Catch Up

After a storming comeback and 31 match unbeaten run to go top of the league the Buffs drew and lost to be joint top on pts but behind on GD.

Thankfully a 2-0 victory over the leader yesterday and a 2-1 win today restored us to Top Spot.

Progress is still being made in the Cup and CL but things are on a knife-edge after a 2-2 draw away in the Cup Semi and a 2-1 home win in the CL semi.

PS. The Cup semi was enjoyable with an active manager making formation changes - everything we did seemed to have an impact.

Haven't posted quiet a while, due to being busy, several auto subs game this season, here's an update. League im going for my first ever 26-0-0,would mean more to me than last 2 trebles. Defending the treble is possible but complicated as o suffered my only season defeat in 1st legs semis, but I'm not dead yet. Cl final again reached, will be vs a country men,but yea the objective number one is 26-0-0

I think the main reason my GK missed out was because we got beyond his back line more often and his GK made more saves. But my GK has been impressive in dealing with crosses from corners and FKs so that's where his ratings come from......maybe, perhaps

PS, He had Jim Baxter and Jimmy Johnstne on the pitch whereas mine were warming the bench

CL (1st leg SF): 0-4 win away! He played 4-3W-1-2, his best MC was suspended and the replacement got injured after 9 minutes.
As he wasn't online and he didn't have automatic substitutions I just had to take advantage of his weak midfield. 2 goals in each half, this should be enough to play the final.
1 player got suspended for 2nd leg and 1 other player has the risk of missing the final so I'll bench him for the return. Hopefully I can reach the final without (unnecessary) suspensions.

League: 1-4 win away against 4th. 9 points ahead of 2nd and 3rd (and a much better goal difference), the league title is almost in the bag!

Already starting to prepare for next season, selling the reduntant players.

This season.... damn. I entered game 9 with this record 0-2-6. Solidly in 14th place. Sucktastic. Now after 22 matches played my record is 11-3-8. Which puts me in 4 place. With 4 games left to play I can theoretically end up anywhere from 11th to first place. Usually the 14th place team has negative a billion goals right now, but in this league that team only has -26 (and 17 pts). Every team is capable of beating every other team.

In this season, I planned to abandon at least one of 2 teams, most likely the L17 team, in coming season. They are still fighting for champions in various competitions but both my teams face the strongest competitors for some years in league and had relative difficult starts.

My L17 team had very poor form in middle of the season, lost several games in a row and placed 10th or 11th in league at half season. It then has a good run recently and won 7 games as row before had a draw in previous league match. Now it is placed in 5th but I think it is not easy to reach top 4 by season end as all coming opponents are strong. On the other hand, more surprisingly it reached finals of both CL and Cup. It was usually knocked out early in previous few seasons.

My L9 team was a quite successful team which won 7, 5, & 1 league, CL and Cup titles respectively in last 8 seasons. But it was knocked out early in both CL & Cup in this season. It still has good performance in league and is leading. However, recently my players' forms are poor, my strikers don't score, and every game suddenly became quite difficult. Luckily I have already drawn with the only other team still challenging the league title with me, after I lost to it for 3 times in league and champion league in this season.
