If you have a good team with 14 (or more) full 5* players, next season you 're gonna face teams with that quality. Many of that teams are 2 lv above, with players 3* for them. Yes, it's those crap teams you have in your league but they are from 2-3 levels above. Those teams if will buy some 4* or 5* players, those players are 6* and 7* players for. So if you want to have some chances, you must pump up your team at least to 7* and to be lucky with the draws.
Few more chances you have, if you under-level the quality of your team by selling some high quality players near the end of the season.
If you do it a lot, then you 're gonna face teams 1 level above you. There, maybe you have better luck.
