how do i level up?

So I am screwed regardless. I have 14 players I cannot bring myself to get rid of and the rating of those is close to 6* (24.643) and I am going into lvl 2.

Big question. How are the cup levels split up based on those 14? Do you get bumped up a lvl for each star? Or every point? I want to know if it is even worth letting a couple players go or if I am stuck anyway.

it`s ave team 1st 14 player`s, so if you only have 14 player`s you could/will meet teams 1/2/3 levels above yourself but it`s a worry as you will have same quality, only problem they can sign sign better quality player`s as each level for 5 star players goes 5 quality with each level in transfer market

edit; don`t worry about losing star next season as you have same quality player`s so 5 star is only a guide for each level and if going too level 2 your 4 star player`s can do just as good because at lower you will meet worse teams and teams that are abandoned, also you won`t get league fixture`s till 3rd day, 1st day you will get cup and champs league fixture`s and 1st two day`s are cup games then champs league game and same day league fixture
