best time to renew/resign?

Is it true what I read that it is best to let the contracts expire and then resign them because they will ask for less money and you will get 3 full years of contract?

I was also reading that it does not matter when you assign skill points because the players worth is the same regardless of whether you assign them or horde them. Or is this only in relation to training? I ask this because you can horde the skill points until the end of the season and when you lose the star for the player, you add the skill points and get the star back?

Am I missing something?

Yes for exemple if you will renew a player contract during the season and the end of season he will lose that one and he will have 2 left.

But if you will do it after that, he will have contract for 3 years and it will be cheaper because he will be 1 year older (or it should be).

that`s what i understand with signing back up, but with skill point`s don`t add on till you`v signed them as there value goes up

Till now, I was doing in the last days of the season but last season I forgot to renew their contracts but they was still in my team for 1 more week (so in that extra week, you can do it, I think is the best).

I am very curious if many people do this or do they constantly upgrade their players during the season. I assume that most players make enough money during the season to afford to resign the players no matter what, as long as they are responsible spenders.

First renew their contract to 3 yrs then and only after you`v renewed contract add the skill point`s saved and yes save the skill points, i save the skill points when they have 2 yrs on contract and once i renewed then i add skill
