On the auction I see two players. Both are MC, no extra qualifications. One has age=19, quality=37, value=3.02M. Another has age=18, quality=39, value=2.7M. Why is the 1st one more expensive if his quality is lower and his is older?

Age &quality affects value of a player. But value cannot be simply calculated. The age 19 player is very likely a faster trainer. His training progress in matches or training will be much better.
Training speed is the biggest factor from what I understand.
If you see an 18-19yr old that is inexpensive, it's because he will just train at normal speeds. Where as if you see one that looks like a really crazy price, he'll train super fast.
A good way to use this is to get a couple of the super fast trainers early in the season and build them up! Get a good one and he'll last many seasons at a high level.
Generally, the more expensive players are faster training - but not *always* and Quality is part of value too.
Some of the expensive youngsters are from levels above Youth facility.
They range all over in training speed. Also a 5* will train slower than 3*,

Thanks, very interesting. One might wonder why training speed is not reflected in player's stats as one of the values.
Could you also comment about another "undocumented" feature - how player's immediate neighbors in the formation reflect on his performance?
How do I see training speed on desktop? I see attained training points after training session, but they are quite random. Is there something else?
On the desktop it's easy to see after a match or training:
This was after a match. Baldwin got MotM, so his gain is inflated by 100.
Btw, age also affects value, as they age it goes down some.
I haven't much to say about players next to each other, only my back line is sometimes, and I mostly take note of which side a player seems to perform better on rather than who is next to them.
