yes, the game will give you in the beginning of the new season, a bunch of old players, 3*, over 30 y.o. so you can play .

;)
As nikolgiorgos said you will be given players of 3* and most of them pretty old for the first season, and also very hard to sell, so the tactic of sacking them(you get a reward for that, a silly one I know :p) is the option that most players use and replace them with younger players easier and faster to train.
Nikolgiorgos that picture is so perfect. :D
I would say now would be the time to think about buying some young 5* guys cheaply since bidding wars are mostly over.
If you aren't promoting the time to buy is now until end of season...Even on a team promoting it is still buyers market. I hate spending more than a couple T in bidding so I always look.
If you are planning on a Cup run you have different priorities and I would say sack the higher Q ones before end of this Season, but plan on spending tons of T replacing everyone. Also sacking that many players can add up to a lot of $$.
cheers guys
Before reading your comments, I believed that all players added by the system in this situation are retiring.
Are you sure that any of them can be sold for money? Was system adding these players cost the team any token? I am curious if it is a method to gain get revenue with no cost in terms of money & tokens.
Truly retiring players have to be sacked, or they retire,, cannot be sold. Of course you could try to sell the 30-31-32 y.o.'s but usually no one wants them.
Getting the "free" retirees is a pain in my book since you have to spend $$ to sack them.
Oic. It's unlikely that a team will earn because receiving some system assigned old players. However, if no token is needed for these players, theoretically selling the whole team before season end and then running with a full assigned roster in next season can be a way to save token over a season and then start over. At the last day of next season, the assigned players can be sacked with minimal fee. If the team can buy 14 useful new player at that time, it can compete again in that next next season.
This is what you generally end up with. The youngsters are academy players who I cannot sell. Level 31

OMG so do you sign replacements before next season, and sack retirees last day
or buy them end and sign day 1 next,
or just run with the magic replacements?
Old players I bought almost never let me down, greet my ST I bought this season.

And he achieved this without any pack spent on him.
So what if he was that 30y 130q no one want? So I got him for one token first day.
Yeah no resell value I know. Oldies are powerful, just expansive to use:cool:
Here is my strategy for extreme use of player assignment according to my understandings. This is theory. The aim is to minimize payroll with using system assigned player for a season. I have no plan to try. This is also a gamble. It fails if the team does not have net profit during the season.
1. Sell all players before end of season 0.
2. System assign 14 players to the team on day 1 of season 1 (without token(?) and cost)
3. During the season 1, maximize profit is the only objective. It's ideal to win match without win bonus. If any system assigned player is not retiring, try to sell.
4. From Day 22, begin to buy players for season 3 (as late as possible to minimize salary paid). Target is acquiring 14 players. But they are preferred to be kept unsigned until last day (so that salary need not to be paid). (Note: Unless player slot is needed for new players, it's only optional to sack retiring assigned player. If they are not sacked, they will be automatically out of contract in season 3.)
5. On last day of season 1, sign new players until there are at least 14 signed players.
6. On first day of season 2, no player will be assigned as there are at least 14 players in roster.
