Jo'Burg FC on a good start to the new season... Currently in 1st position in league without defeat, 1 draw, 1 goal conceded. 1st in CL group with 1 defeat but 2 goals conceded... Heading to the last 16 with the final group match played today against 1st and beat him 5-0, lost the 1st leg 2-1, so that 5-0 got us to steal 1st position in the group.
Newly signed MC Pouplin off to a good start as well with 8 matches played, 9 goals and 3 MOM in the league... Hoping this good streak will continue!
Update:
The Cup return leg was a damp squib as the Buffs, chasing a 1-2 deficit from the home leg, only won 1-0 and tumbled out on away goals. This was followed it up with a 1-0 defeat to the leaders in the league to fall to 8th. Wins continued to come in the CL but the margins were tight.
The team was pretty solid in defence but goals were proving hard to come by and what goals they did get came from midfield and defence.
There followed a period of repeated shuffling of the 3 Strikers with arrow changes and other Voodoo. In the League the Buffs won 2-0, 4-0 and 1-0 against teams they were expected to beat - things remained tight with only 2 goals conceded and powder-puff finishing.
The coaching staff had to admit defeat. The Strikers were not up to the job - only 1 was scoring and even he was only delivering 'Sub standard numbers' - yet Buffs Mad stared into the TM wasteland......then went begging to the Board. Mr Scout had only targetted a single ST in the whole market. The Board expressed concern that Buffs had not come sooner - they secured te services of a left footed FK specialist and were then notified of a right footed FK specialist ..... and bought him too. The Buffs Board then put the biscuit tin away and 2 current strikes (including last seasons Player of the Year) were sold.
Buffs FC strode out for a crunch tie against second. They won 4-0 - the new STs provided 3 goals and 2 assists.
Whether this is a new beginning or just a chance occurrence remains to be seen but the Buffs lie 2nd 2pts behind.
PS. The Shamans however claimed the success and retreated with their dolls and pins to the acclaim of the Board. Buffs Mad asked, "If pins in items whick look like the target cause harmful effects, what happens to twins if 1 goes for accupuncture?"
This win cost me 8 greens for a pre-match full-team cardio but was definately worth it:cool:

The opponent's team is no joke he won all matchs in the CL group until now. First leg I lost 1:3
So I've pulled all the tricks to boost my team performance and barely won, although I was leading 0:2 until the 84th minute.:p
The average quality of my team is 9.1 lower.
I have no clue who i will meet in the knock-out stages of the Champion league lol

CL: The Buffs take on a crap team away. The previous match saw the shot-shy Buffs stumble to a 3-1 win.
Today the opposition managed a few shots in a frenzied start and the Buffs' GK, Andy Goram, was even called upon to make 3 saves in the opening 45. But Buffs went in 3 goals up. In the second half it was one-way traffic and a further 6 goals completed the rout.
Not much of a test but new striker Malcolm Smith :p:D grabbed his second hat-trick in 2 matches, another 9 rating and MoM Bubbly. New strike partner, Steve Archibald grabbed 2 goals to get off the mark. Other goals came from: Willie Henderson, AMC(/AMR) (2), Alan Hansen, DMC(/DC) and Dave Mackay, MC.
Little update my end.
Rhondda Rovers remain top of the league with a flawless record after a 9-0 demolition of hhhh. Unfortunately, our star midfielder Cristian Lubo was injured for 4 day. However, the magic sponge was once again used and Lubo will be back tomorrow.
Tomorrow's fixtures see Rhondda Rovers reserves play Nor Azlan away in the league, while the first team have a very interesting tie against Asiruh in the cup. A team that seems imbalanced with three high 6* (Q29) players mainly surrounded by low 5*/high 4* (Q19 - Q21). However, Rhondda Rovers must try and keep this player quiet and commit no fouls:

A formation is in mind to try and counter this, but it will not be easy.
Cake is a lie.
Instead of cake, why not get Tokens for topscorer and most assist. And why aren't there stats for Cup and CL, thats a shame:rolleyes:
League: Buffs win away to the 4th placed side and remain in 2nd. The goals conceded in the 4-2 win do however double the goals against to 4, tsk tsk.
Rocks FC scored first in 3 mins before Buffs Mad had even taken his seat. New Striker Malcolm Smith had an off game. Left winger John Robertson helped himself to 2 goals either side of HT to put the Buffs in the lead. Within a minute of coming on for Smith, secondary Striker Steve Archibald rifled one in off the bar. The home side got to within 1 goal 5 mins later but left winger Robertson found a killer pass at the end of his dancing run to find Richard Gough, who coolly slotted home.
The Buffs now face 3rd tomorrow.

My team dies slow, would look much worse if my life insurance wouldn't keep on scoring, 302 for the club today,Mario Gomez the man I can count on ,even though the rest of the team usually rated 4 to 7 in my games, but once the long ball forward to Gomez o the Fk coming I'm bit relieved:-)Attachment 40721
Looks like we're nearing a transition period. Star striker Djabour, my in form nordgen, whose been a stud since level 3 is slowly losing quality as age is catching up to him; he's now 27. Today he rescued us with a penalty at the brink for a 1:0 victory over 5th, moving us 6 points clear of a non-cl spot. We should finish the day in 2nd; in this very competitive league which goes 7 deep with high quality teams. It was important to bounce back from yesterday's 2:1 setback, where my 4-1-4-1 failed to pick up points against a solid 4-3n-3; that formation is the bane of existence, especially since I usually have multiple very good strikers, whom can't play in that counter!
Champions: Clinched top spot in the group yesterday with a 2:0 victory. Tommorrow's time for the scrubs to pick up some minutes. Might not be a bad time to try and get either park the bus or bad day since our opponent is dead last in the group with 0 points, so it'll have no barring whatsoever on who earns a round of 16 spot!!!
Back from the residential trip...
While I'm on the flight home to Bangkok, AEPRE FC beaten Neyzen away from home 11-3, but we lost two important players through an injury. Luis Espinoza and Oscar both knocked off 4 and 2 days respectively.
Frederic Soumare scores a hat-trick today, the goals were also scored by the debutant Bryan Andersson, replacing the knocked off Oscar, Alfie Deyes and Pawel Sochocki.
Goalscorers Oscar 2' Saputro 13' Soumare 18' 54' (pen) 84' Sochocki 22' 61' Sugg 32' Deyes 50' 51' Andersson 60' 68' Schrattel 63' 75'
Man of the Match Sugg (9), Soumare also won a 9 rating.
Lost my cup match vs higher level opponent ,by challenging him with the same formation, both 4122w1,and I used def c. Satisfied with the stats but unlucky with the result, but for myself I stick in crucial matches with same formation as opponent ,if the line up doesn't make me much weaker. A counter formation only guarantees me more possession but same formation doesn't let u down in the important stats, so I don't care about possession as long as I get enough chances with same formation ,chances n not just the ball Attachment 40727
League: Buffs Mad was caught on the hop a bit today. Rebel team in the league, Garolou FC, had set up in X-fighter style (3W-2N-2N-2W-1) and Emperor Buffs sent his lads out in a Tie-Fighter Flat (I lied it was 4-4-2:p). But while BM lounged around watching videos the opponent made a late switch to 4-2(DM)N-1-3. So bang goes that series of hackneyed puns.
Garolou FC got off to a flyer with wave after wave of attacks (oops another couple slipped out) but the Buffs held firm while the reorganistion to 3N-1-4-2 took place. Better! but the team were still operating under mixed passing orders and failed to retain possession - a switch to the flanks helped further.
The game progressed pretty evenly but while the Buffs were repelling all attacks they were not making inroads up front. Garolou then picked up an injury towards the end of the first half as Buffs' hardman Dave Mackay took out a DMC. The yellow was worth it. The Buffs switched to defensive M2M with a little Whole Pitch Press thrown in ;) With the change made it seems the opponent had gotten restless too as, when Buffs Mad lifted his head from his clipboard, he had pushed his lone MC forward as AMC.
HT came and went without further action.
Buffs started the second quickly with a flurry of attacks. MC Dave Mackay was stretchered off after an agricultural challenge brought retribution for his earlier misdemeanor - a big blow, but one that was soon softened. The FK was pushed out for a corner but left winger Robertson scored in off ST Archibald's head. Ricksen then replaced Mackay in the centre and Robertson was again the provider within 6 mins as he slipped a low cross through the defenders legs for right winger Henderson to poke home. Even 2 corners for the opposition couldn't breech the Buffs defence as Goram punched clear. The Buffs bitz was concluded on 60 mins when it was Robertson's turn to receive. MC Brown tore the opponents defence a new one right up the middle before slipping the ball to the classy winger to steer home.
The rest you can make up yourselves from the pic. ;)
All BM could say afterwards was "6 FKs and no goals from them. Heads will roll! - although they'll probably hit the wall too."
Buffs are now tied for top spot on pts and gd - after the leaders draw at home to the recently added 12th league friend - but are placed 2nd having scored 1 goal fewer.
PS. Our new Striker plays 2 games and scores 6 of 13 goals. Everything is rosy. Then I rename him to me and he scores 0 of the 7 scored in the next 2 matches. *meh* Voodoo!

Referee scored the opener in 40th minute sending off MC Maea (I tried to sub him, but referee was faster)... When you are a man down vs. stronger opponent in good form, all you can do is to bend over and hope it wont hurt much... Opponent's strikers scored the other 3 goals, btw...

Rhondda Rovers reserves win 3-0 away to Nor Azlan to maintain a 100% record in the League. The main team, using a 4-1-4-1 formation to try and nullify the main striker, played in the cup against Asiruh and, well, the second leg is going to be very interesting indeed.

What's your budget for this season? - £30m
Who do you want to replace? - I tend to go 5 star throughout my team at the moment
What are your goals for this season? Champions (Im currently top after 9 games)
AEPRE FC gained a competitive spirit before tomorrow's match aganist Angus FC, who is currently on top of the league with a 5-2 victory over the troll team AC Privy. Oscar scored his 2nd hat-trick of this season.
The first goal comes from Oscar's distinctive sucker punch shot in the 32'. AC Privy managed to equalizes with one momentum swing in the final five minutes, where Livio Lamarque with his solo-run allows him to get to the best shooting spot, before putting the ball into the back of the net just before the first half ends.
In the 49', the crowd at AEPRE Arena were put into silence, when Markus Adolfsson capitalized Frederick Aboagye's lost ball in the counter-attack attempt, and he scored to put the away side in the lead.
But the lead only lasts for about eight minutes, when AC Privy's DMC Tresor Aide fouled an attacker, which results in a free-kick where Oscar managed to scores a very good goal past the defensive wall. AEPRE FC returned to the lead where Oscar counter-attacked from the defender's error, before opening the ball to Bryan Andersson who performs very well on his debut last game, which he managed to score.
Four minutes later, Lamarque clears the ball, but the ball founds Frederic Soumare, who counter-attacked the opponent's defense with a very dangerous run, passes to Aboagye who increases the lead to two goals.
Oscar completes his hat-trick with the free-kick in the 85th minute.
Goalscorers Oscar 32' 57' 85' Lamarque 45' Adolfsson 49' Andersson 57' Aboagye 69'
Man of the Match Oscar (9)
Jo'Burg FC played opponent in 2nd position. Got a 1-0 away win to keep that top place and unbeaten streak. Still only 1 goal conceded! Now 7 points clear of opponent in 2nd.
CL match today against opponent in 3rd in group, which happens to be a friend.. Whether its a win or loss, still going through. Still pushing for that win!
League: Buffs FC had an early start in the league and were in need of a pick-me-up, so they arrived at La Caffetteria FC very early.
Young newly recruited Academy prospect, who had only just gained 5* recognition after 2 very short appearances from the bench, got his first start.....and opened the scoring on 32 mins. Apart from that it was a pretty boring first half. Fernando Ricksen livened it up at the start of the second with a defensive stunt straight out of the "Tackle like Lee: Bruce on Defending" manual, and was booked. The opposition manager must have overdone the caffeine as he changed formation and the Buffs immediately started opening them up. Henderson's FK found Steve Archibald at it was 2-0 after 55. On 70 minutes Henderson ran at the defence down the wing and cut inside to curl one in at the back stick. In the last 15 minutes the Buffs racked up several clear chances bu Malcolm Smith in particular proved wasteful. (He's definitely getting his name changed #jinxed).
Not a bad day with 6 Buffs players rating 8 (the rest 7) although it was a bit tighter than it seemed. Buffs FC now jump top by 3 and signal "Catch us if you can!" to the chasing pack with their games in hand.
If teteks win their last group match in the CL by 2 or more goals, We will be eliminated from the CL in the group stage for the first time in our history, There is no H2H rule here since both matches between us and teteks were 1-1 draws so it will go down to GD.
Quite frankly, Our performances in the CL were terrible this season and we probably deserve to be eliminated.
I feel you.
I'm a 35 level and this season is the 2nd or 3rd time for me being eliminated in group stage!
Every other season I get at least in the semifinals, but this time I had some trolling.
First match, I was winning by 2 goals and the other team made 2 in the last 10 minutes. (2-2)
2nd match, I scored the equalizer goal at 84' and after 2 minutes the opponent scored too. (lost 2-1)
3rd-4th match, I won against the last team (he finished with 0 points).
5th match, I was winning til 85', when he equalized. (1-1)
Today I needed a home win to pass as 2nd, but ended 1-1
Result: I had the same points with the 2nd team, but he had 1 more away goal (2-2 at my home).
