Season 65

In the grand scheme of things, today wasn't a bad day. We entered the day 2nd in the CL Group D and atop the league on goal differential. We end the day, where we began, 2nd in CL group and atop the league on goal differential.

It was a disappointing too though. Tried for bad day achievement in the champions league, but came up short since opponent could goal muster 4 goals against by highly illegal formation with no defense. Battle for first in the league ended in a 1:1 draw. Stat line was strange as my team could only muster one shot on goal from 27 shots, yet managed a 1:1 draw. I used an attacking mentality is this pivotal fixture, which continued the trend of the team performing better with a defensive/hard defensive approach this season. I'm not sure if other managers are experiencing the same trend, but its something for me to keep in mind going into the return leg of the cup tomorrow and KO rounds of the champions league.

Buffs Catch-Up

After a stuttering start in the league with 3 wins 3 draws and 1 Defeat in the first 7 the Buffs beat the leader 5-2 and won the next 3 - he was second last season. We still lie 1pt behind but the leader's nerves are frayed.

In the Cup we've had 7 wins from 7 and similarly are 6 from 6 in the CL. Just need to hold our nerve but performances have been stable lately:

Though I haven't posted in a couple of days, I'm not really going to go to too much depth into the games as most of them speak for themselves. The only one I will go into a little is the Cup game as that is going to be an interesting second leg, and a little pointer that the league games are primarily using my reserves.

After the kicking I got against the team I can't pronounce, this was a much needed victory and set up the final day nicely.

The Cup match was very good viewing, as this went back and forth for most of the match, with us eventually winning and taking back a good advantage. It was also pleasing to actually be the team injuring the players rather than being injured. Though the match is in my favour, my more defensive formation didn't quite work out as expected.

Another easy win as the manager has been inactive and, despite the legal formation, the players were out of position to give me the 80-20 advantage. This sums up the League and I have currently won all 12 games with no goals conceded so far. However, the next two will be sterner tests as we play the top two in Jerez Industrial and Jack Twats, the latter likely to have my finger 'accidently slip' the tackling to hard.

The Champions League match was simple. Win or draw and we were through, lose and we were out. Thankfully, we won in emphatic style and finished second due to the head to head ruling. Checking out the remainder of the teams, I can't see any reason why we can't go all the way.

Looking at your history buffs and I am sorry about season 10 and 12. Those had to be hard. My 2nd season was almost like that. I blew the league by the skin on my teeth and then lost the CL final in extra time. So I won the hard one and just missed the two "easier" ones.

I am not very optimistic about winning the treble in the future. The cup just gets harder as you get better so my only chance is to possibly save up a ton of green packs and real money. Wait for the draw, and then train my starting 11 from 5-6* to 9*'s. Not the most ethical way and even then not a guarantee.

So far I have flubbed back to back CL finals so I have yet to win the career treble much less the single season lol. Though not many get the experience of winning the cup their 1st two seasons or winning it at all so I should probably stop the whining.

FC Hoofdrop has drawn! Twice in 3 games! Once in the away leg vs C.A.E.T FC in the CUP and once in the final group stage match of CL.
The team is fully committing to success in all competitions and will not allow minor setbacks to impede them.

Qualified for knocked stages of c/l but they tried to troll us, going in the final game we needed a draw but in opening 15 mins 2 injuries including g/k and we were 2 down but we came back to win 3-2 so there

League: A brace a piece from Karin Kikuhara and Namfah Yui-lue, along with goals from Nguyen "Two" Phuc Khanh Linh, Minyu "Sakina" Wu, and Kira "Jesus" Yamato earns Bali United ZAFT a 7-0 victory away at the abandoned team that is merangin fc. The victory is not as easy as expected though - joined the match half an hour into it with the score still 0-0, and Jesus Yamato broke the deadlock 4 minutes before HT. In the 2nd half the floodgates opened especially after I switched from 4-3w-1-2 to 4-4-2 classic with Sakina replacing Tran Ngo "Chan" Thuy Trang. Overall this is still a decent win that keeps us in the leading pack, with an important blockbuster match against Imron FC at home coming up next. 1st vs. 2nd, this bound to serve up an exciting showdown!

Champions League: The draw of the Champions League Round of 16 pits us against Dream Team of Albania, a team that we've beaten on penalties in the Cup Preliminary round a couple seasons ago. Surely the aroma of revenge is strong in this tie, but we've built our strength over the past couple of seasons and we're now ready to take on anything. The first leg is away to Albania on Sunday, before the 2nd leg is held at home on Tuesday.

Here is my Champions League draw. I am more than a full star better than all but one remaining team at this point, of course someone could do a lot of training and I am definately not done growing but so far it looks pretty promising for our first ever CL title after two bitterly disappointing finals losses to teams of similar quality to ours. Our closest rival appears to be S Leon FC with an avg of 36.8 or just under a star below our 41.2 avg though our starting 11 is considerably better and makes the gap much higher.

My starting 11 avg 44.04 as of this moment. Which is 7.24 points above the best team avg of the other 15 teams. That is more than 8 points better than what I faced in last years final and more than 6.5 better than the first lost final. Here's to hoping it is enough or and I coast to the title.

Just keep going. In Seasons 1-5 I didn't really give the Cup much thought beyond trying my best with the team I was developing - I just accepted the 3 levels above cups and savoured the occasional triumph in a Round. During that time I had an alt account that I used to test things on and played various defensive counterattacking options before deciding to use some of them in the Cup. I started making better progress. Season 9 was the hardest to take because I was competitive in all 3 competitions but came away with nothing. Ofc losing in the Cup Final in S10 on PKs wasn't nice but it was my best result at that time. Iirc it was in Season 11 I decided to change tactics and do "Cup Q-manipulation Lite" by loading in 2 FAs + 1 Academy Free and deciding to carry over 14 players. Ofc chance would have it I actually won the damn thing in ET before I could enact it. Then by some weird quirk of fate my 4Q lowered team managed to get in a Lvl 16 Cup in S12 (probably just a weird 1* lvl 16 side sneaked in then got knocked out but I didn't notice it). It was just a piece of bad luck that one of the 2* level 14 teams 'woke up' bought 14 5* youngsters and left me licking my wounds again with a defeat in ET against a 7/8* team. In S13 I can't decide whether I should label it troll or just accept my Strikers had turned to crap (they had). It could so easily have been 4 Cups in a row - but it was just 1. Such is life and T11. :D Systems do work - I've had a level 16 Cup for 3 seasons now but sometimes your luck is just not in. ;)

Whining is good, its even better if you can let it add to your entertainment. ;)

Update

The powers that be didn't want it to happen, as the Buffs struggled in the Cup to exert dominance, but regardless they came away with a 1-0 win to progress to the next round. The opposition may have been crap, and the Buffs attempts to despatch them may have been too, but at least the team avoided their ratings being sullied as they all still gained 7s and 8s. :D

Old Timer, left winger, John Robertson, who will retire at the end of the Season, was the first to fall at the feet of the regenerative beasties as he broke a leg - 18 days out. "Aye right" said Buffs Mad, "someone call Eileen Drewery....quickly!" ;)
Steve Nicol also succumbed with an injury (4 days) but at least young Jack Harper got an opportunity to stroke home the resulting penalty.

Oh! and after a 5-0 win in the league earlier put them in the lead the Buffs then retained top spot as the leaders slumped to a second defeat. Lets hope the new consignment of "Troll-Away" is delivered before the next round of matches in the league and CL :D

Today's update from my end.

Rhondda Rovers first task of the day was to try and progress into the next round of the Cup following a 4-3 win at their place in the first leg. The tie was practically over after the second minute as Lubo scored a free kick, meaning they would need to score three goals to qualify for the next round. However, another goal mid way through the second half sealed it and we advance into the quarter finals to play Mehmet FC, a majority scout buyer.

The League match saw our reserves go up against Jerez Industrial, who were in the top 4 prior to today. However, either due to manager inactivity or just forgot, the reserves romped to an easy win. Next up is the main match of the League. Away to Jack Twats, who have had some very strong victories recently and are even close to matching my goals for record (which considering the difference in teams is very impressive). The tackling will be increased to hard just for this.

The Champions League draw has generally been very favourable to us as the team we face is not that much stronger than the league teams I've played. However, I have been trolled before and hope that it will not happen in this match.

League: ​Got my first troll result of the season loooool

Am currently away to the prefectural capital to see my local team play and on the way my important league match against Imron FC started. Naturally I fired up my Top Eleven 2015....and it kicked me out right on the match screen with "Connection Closed, do you want to reconnect?" I mean WTF?! My signal's full, got a full 4G, but my Top Eleven 2015 kicked me out. When I finally managed to reach the match screen, it's 0-0. Immediately I switched over to hard attacking, down both flanks (am playing a 4-5-1 V against a weaker 4-4-2 ND, my 35.7 against his 33.2), but as I saved...."Connection closed, do you want to reconnect?" Bloody game kicked me out, again. When I logged in again, the game recorded my presence (and a friend of mine who's supporting me), BUT IT DIDN'T RECORD MY TACTICAL CHANGE. Tried to replace an underperforming Chan with Lennon Takeo, but the game won't allow me! So I had to watch as Chan performed a fatal mistake that enabled Imron FC to score the only goal of the game.

As I mentioned, my Top Eleven 2015 has been acting weird, connection's good but it keeps kicking me out once I got into the match screen with a connection closed error. It didn't even record my tactic change and doesn't allow me to do subs! Dominated most of the stats, had a number of chances but had to fall to one counterattack.

Champions League: Unfortunately in the Champions League Bali United ZAFT didn't fared better today as well. Taking on Albania'S Dream Team away, the Tridatu Soldiers were shocked with a Gilman Berdufi header and had to spend the entire duration of the game bombarding the away team's defense which surprisingly denied every single chance that Bali United created. THEY EVEN INJURED TWO OF MY KEY PLAYERS FOR GOD'S SAKE. Thankfully Jesus Yamato saved the day with the all-important equalizer, and I managed to use my red packs for Aila Jyrkiäinen since I need him ready for tomorrow's match against Dortmund in the league. Zechs Merquise will cover for Yuna Oshiro in the DMC section tomorrow.

Yeah your striker(s) seem a little off. You also have high fouls in both games which gives chances fom dead ball opportunities. I don't see how you expect many goals playing 1 deep ST in a flank protecting formation vs two teams that both attack the middle. Also, you played shoet passing in the 0-1 match. Try using mixed and long passing when in defensive formations like 4-1-4-1.

League: 11-1-1, atop the league on goal differential. Won 3:2 away against 6th today.

Champions: Picked a 4:0 win at home to kick off the round of 16. It was our first clean sheet of the champions league.

Cup: Advanced to QTRfinals behind an 8:2 aggregate victory. Much tougher test awaits in the QTRfinals.

Halfway League Table

July Fourth lead by 4 points at the half way stage in this league and we are still unbeaten, However Janderinho have kept us honest and are still a threat despite losing their last game, We play Janderinho at home tomorrow, If we can beat Janderinho then you would expect us to go on to claim the title.

The biggest surprise is how poor RedsNik have been in 7th place, They have a starting XI quality that is comparable to ours at 7* and with special abilities, Janderinho are a mid range 6* team with only 3 players with special abilities.

We are still playing in both the CL and Cup this season, A treble is still a possibility, But however there are some teams that are strong in both competitions... But let's still believe its possible until we are defeated or we achieve it.

Update from my end and a mini rant to boot.

Firstly, I played my Champions League first leg today and thought that I was going to be on the receiving end of Nordeus trolling after going 2-0 down after two quick fire goals in the 11th and 14th minute. Fortunately, it ended up being a blip as we managed to romp to victory in the end and should be able to progress into the next round, though after this and the League game, I'm not going to be 100% just yet.

And now for the League game against Swansea City, to which I put the tackling up to hard. Now I have played 12 games in the League prior to this match with my reserves, all of which I have won reasonably comfortably with no goals conceded and have not changed the tactics at all throughout the league. All my opponents are much weaker than myself (hence the reserves playing while the main team tackles the Cup and Champions League) and have generally caused no issues. So can someone please explain how I lost the match when their best player is 4* (everyone else are 2* or 3*) while I have a team of 5* and one 6* player, and conceded two goals FROM ****ING CORNERS AGAIN when the same team has not conceded at all this season?

My team has conceded about 12 goals in one and a half seasons and I can guarantee you that at least 8 of those, if I look back through the threads, were from corners, either randomly or the 'concedes corner again' bollocks.

I can handle losing games when I feel it was actually deserved (much like what could happen in the Cup), but this sort of result is very annoying, especially as they're from set pieces that you have no control over.

I always use long passing in my tactics mate. Whenever I play V-style and/or 4-1-4-1, I always attack through the flanks, with red arrows on my AML/ML, AMR/MR, DL and DR.

If he's way stronger than me, I can accept that, but this is a 29.0 team, facing up against my 36.2. Morale are all 100%, so does condition, win bonus are at a max. I usually play 4-1-3w-1-1 against 4-4-2 classic and I've won all of them, with the exact tactics, attacking, down both flanks, mixed passing, red arrows on the ML-MR-DR-DL and alternating blue and red arrows for the AMC. Actually this slump of form has been going on since yesterday, dunno why. Like I said, I played 4-1-3w-1-1 against him away and won 4-0.

Strangely enough during this slump the ones hit the worst are the ML/AML. Going to play through the middle for the next match.
