    Buying scouts

I had my first cup match today, as I'm level 2 and have an above average team, I've been put with level 4 teams with much higher quality than me

One of my strikers is injured and another is 32 and untrainable, so I decided to buy a striker before the game today. There was nothing in the auctions so I bought my first ever scout. He cost 69 tokens + I had to swap a load of tokens to afford the £2Million price tag. He's 22 and I assumed he'd be a good trainer, but he's one of the slowest in my squad. He's faster than my 32 year old striker, but slower than almost everyone else.

Is this bad luck or are scout players rubbish. I assumed he'd be a fast trainer as he cost a fortune and he's been observed by a scout!!! He provided nothing in the game and if he turns out to be a poor performer and a slow trainer then he's worthless...

A mixture of being a 6* players and being 22yo (I can't remember the full details, but from what I remember reading here, they start to train slower when hitting certain age brackets and when they have a certain amount of stars).
Rhondda Rovers (The Rebirth) - Season 5, Level 3

    Career Progress:

    League Titles - 3
    Cup Winners - 1
    Champions League Winners - 1

Scout players are rubbish trainers. If you want fast trainers you need to find someone 18-20 of extreme price.
You only buy a scout if you are 1-2 players away from what you think is a special team and that guy can put you over the top. They aren't long term solutions for the most part.

3* 15 quality why? I don't get what you mean lol. I trained the 32 year old 15q and 22 year old 33q and with a stretching session the 22 year old got +8 the 32 year old got +4. The +4 was the lowest and the +8 was the 3rd lowest of the entire squad. I know they get harder to train with higher quality, but it seems like he's slower than he should be. It's not like I even went for an older cheaper player. He was the youngest and most expensive striker in the scout list

Btw I love your E.T Mourinho sig

Whenever I see it, all I can imagine is Elliott thinking, "Wow... Jose Mourinho is in my basket" and Mourinho is thinking "Hmm... why am I in this basket... and why do I have a blanket around me... lol

The first thing I thought when seeing the title of this thread was "Don't" unless you're desperate for that one player, for this season.

Players slow every star they gain, and also as they age.

Pretty much the only role I consider Mr. Scout's list for is GK.. and he has to play every match, still won't keep up his Quality like a super expensive fast trainer. And lately I've been rethinking that since they are so expensive. Because I'd rather assign points my own way, I think a four or five star with 70T in greens for training is a better deal in the long term.

Expressed above is my own opinion. Your results may vary.

Well, I just asked to... ask, simple curiosity xD

Really trains very slow to have 22 years... I remember when I trained Cocu to the 9*...and If I remember well he won a progress of 5%-10%-15% in hard training 10/20/30% when he had 9* and 21 age ...he was a nordgen, not a scout..

I like to have a variety of academy players + Nordgens + scouts in my team, I really had good experiences with all types of players so, variety xDD

In 11 seasons I've only bought 1 scout. Season 6 I had what I felt like a special team, but was lacking an MC and didn't have a corner specialist. And what do you know... a 22yr old max rated MC with corner shows up on the scout list. I bought him and he was a star for my triple crown team. Season 7 and 8 he was still pretty good, but by season 9 he was pretty much done.

I obviously don't regret spending 50 tokens on him, but it's not something I would want to make a habit of.

I've just trained the scout guy. It took 11 green packs to gain 5 skill points (I think they're called skill points, whatever you need 75 of to get a star). When I hear people have thousands of green packs, did they buy them or collect them somehow? I get 10 a day from videos, 1 from a friend and 2 every 4 days or something from my level 1 gym (which I'm going to upgrade to max some day hopefully) Is there any other way of getting them? I never have any spare as the 11 or 12 a day I get are always used for training which only takes a minute.

I see, wasn't sure if I was doing something wrong or not lol.

How many greens to train to 9*? Did you buy or collect somehow?
