Level 4 player in my league?

Hey, I joined the game midseason and got pre-simulated some pretty bad results with which I was left 14th. I now have a great lvl 1 squad though (even a scout! Didn't buy tokens though), and am up to 4th. I just beat the first player in the league, but in the result, it says next to his name that he's level 4? But he's in my league and his players are pretty much average, 3, 4 and 5 stars. Can anybody explain why? Is this a glitch? The picture is attached

what they have done is quit there level 4 team too take over a level 1 team, so they will remain level 4 even though they are in level 1 league till they get and pass that level

edit; below is friend of mine who quit his level 27 team to take over level 1 team he is now level 6 even though it still shows him as level 27 and he`l remain level 27 until he passes that too
