I had absolutely 0 competition in the first 3 season opening talent dumps. Although at lvl 3 the first day had all crap and it was day 2 that the good players came.

Entering lvl 5 I wasn't expecting much different but then the best available players were at GK and FB so right off the bat I had a all out war that lasted 35 rounds in order to finally get my man. It was the first time I had ever seen a keeper in the top 1/4 of the market value for their level and with the lack of consistency I have dealt with at the position I was not going to let him go to some other arse who thought he could chase me off.

3 of the other 4 I got (I had my pick of the top players) were also bid on by this one guy with asian characters for a team name. He kept sticking his head in even though he always gave up after a few rounds he kept coming back for the next guy I had already bid on. I don't know what he was thinking? That I would suddenly lose my nerve and let him have one.......HA.......After my first bidding war I was in no mood to be trifled with..


I don't know if this was a sign that the bidding would get more intense starting at lvl 5 of just that there happened to be players who people wanted because it is hard to get keepers and FB's who are fast trainers of the highest order.

It was annoying to spend that many tokens (though still less than a scout) but it was like Christmas still. I just pray they all work out, I had 5 positions as goals for signing, 3 starting spots included. The 3 positions I needed starters at were literally the top 3 available and the two bench positions I needed were in the top 7-8 although they were 3 and 4 points away from 6* so their value will be more like the others when they all crack 6*s.

So far the main 3 all have started one game and they all had at least a 7 rating with the LB getting an 8.

I am hopeful this will be the last time for the next several seasons that I need to buy much in the way of new players. Unless there are busts among them I will have a core I want to keep together until they near retirement, fall out of form badly, or cannot grow fast enough to make keeping them at the sill level I want all my starter to reach.

There were NordGems on my market but unfortunately when the time came for the duvet to release its grip it didn't.

Not too competitive on 4 I favourited apart from 2 which, the same Russian guy from last season bid on - he gets what he wants so they went over 20.

I picked up a super fast training 18yr old MC on day 2 when 5* nordgens finally appeared for me.
I guess everyone had spent all their money cause I got him for 1 token.

Last season I got my keeper about a week into the season the same way, and he's a total stud.

So it's kinda of just a matter of luck/good timing
