League: won 6:1 today, leaving us in 2nd with a 3-1-0 record. Very happy with my midfield so far, as my MC's have earned MOTM in all 4 league games so far.
It also raises the question of why does my 8* striker have so much trouble earning MOTM? He's powered trained with an SA too. He's playing more like a Sepp Blatter than a Superstar!!!
Cup: 1:0 road win to cruise into the playoff round of the cup on the backs of a 9:1 aggregate. It doesn't happen often, but it sure is nice to be able to breath easy after the 1st round.
Champions: Atop the group on goal differential with 6 points through 2 matches. If we can earn 3 points in one of the matches, we'll need horrible luck with the falling of the dominoes to not advance to the round of 16, but stranger things have happened.
below is a first on my news feed even though team is abandoned

@Gert
I wonder if he had that performance (2 goals and whatever) during the whole game, still had the same rate :confused:Quote:
and only played 2.nd half nice!
@Cat
out of Cup - you are a girl of tradition :o
@ pcmacdaniel
I hope you 'll share with us the magic recipe :pQuote:

I hope this is not a part of the recipe :(Quote:

United CL news: as some of you know I was paired with three teams a higher level than me, auws!
And this is why IMO, you never play with just three central defenders:

DMR (M. Burns)and AMR are two of the goalscores, and as commentaries said they had free runs down the flanks :rolleyes:
PS. M. Burns from the Simpsons, didn't think he could run at all :o

Yesterday: The Buffs recorded 4-0 wins in the League and Cup.
Another fine start by the Buffs' MCs
http://i57.tinypic.com/k1x3tg.jpg
CL: Although the opposition GK had the busier time its down to Buffs Mad to make the difference this time as Harper turns Shot-Shy. Naismith is released from the shackles of the bench to steal the win.
MCs Henderson and Morrison again play their part rating 8 and 7 respectively. Thats 2 8s in a row for Henderson who has seen a significant turnaround in performance since being relieved of CK duties last season (even though he has the SA). (If you're not up to the task then there's no point continuing to persevere with failure. ;) )

Since DMC Curea (trialist) has been selected to train up on the role of an MC it seems likely there will be a Re-birthing Ceremony soon (not thought of a name yet).

Palace Casuals finally win a Champions League Group match, 2-1 away to Ko FC, Ramos and Shaqiri providing the goods early in the second half after Casuals conceded a first half opener from the home team. This leaves the Group delicately balanced at the half-way stage:

And of course, you shouldn't use 3 at the back:

After the game, the stats showed yet another 5 for a CM, so the Transfer Market was consulted, and this player was purchased for 2T:

A left footer, providing a bit of variety - there is only one other 'leftie', and one pedally ambidextrous, in the squad. One of the existing MCs will now be offered to the market.
Finally stopped the rot in the league this morning with a 3-5 win. And finally our player of the season last season got back on the score sheet with a goal and two assists. Dropping him for the cup game helped it seems. (If that's how the game really works, I don't know lol)
Also won 0-3 in the cup last night but picked up two more injuries, which makes it 6 so far this season. Squad is really becoming depleted and tired. Couple of youth players from the academy due in less than a week, hoping they can boost the squad again.
Our draw in he cup is outrageous, I don't think I have any chance against this guy, but then, you never know.

Palace Casuals return to League action, and sneak away from FC Croatia's ground with a 1-0 win. In a game which pitted a rampant attack against a resolute defence, the defence won - just. Omar Hansen had left his free-kick boots at home, but was still deadly in front of goal as he netted a loose ball from just outside the box, and the defence did the rest, Captain DC Anurak Arma picking up the MoM. New signing MC Suhail Kamal was slotted straight into the team, and contributed usefully to the cause, getting a 7 for his 73 minutes work.
With the top two dropping points, Palace Casuals now find themselves in 1st place, one point clear of the previous leader.

Battle of unbeatens in the champions league, is a matchup of contrasting styles. My opponent, the reigning champions league winner plays a 4-1(DMC)-5(ML-MC-MC-MC-MR). He also didn't attend the match, but updated his team in the minutes following the match, so i'm assuming he was gunning for less possession, to produce more opportunities on the counter. I played a 3w-5-2 flat, attacking, down the flanks, pressing whole pitch with short passing. In theory (and probably reality) such a strategy would play into his hands, but as fate would have it, I was the team launching more counter-attacks. I don't quite know where my players where finding the room to counter-attack against the defensive bunker but they were, as we managed to score of the counter with a 23rd minute goal from ST Panaigua! Opponent would equalize with a goal off the 30th minute corner to knot the score at 1, where it would remain into the half. The boys came out motivated from the intermission, adding goals in the 53th and 56th minute (56th was off the corner, I think the 53rd was too but I can't remember for sure). Again, i'm not quite sure where they were finding space to counter-attack against the 10 man bunker, but they were. My ST with the infamous name would add goals in the 86th and 89th minutes from a pair of free kicks, increasing the margin to a final and decisive 5:1 victory.
Finally a great start for us, hopefully to a 26-0-0! The funny thing is after 5 rounds there's no draw result, wtf...

What can I say,according to the stats ,almost troll,but of course Gomez wins it again:-)Attachment 46894
League: The Buffs take on 5th who seemed to be in a strangely high position, probably due to having played the bottom feeders. They were sent back down the food chain with a 7-0 win.
ST Harper scored 3; MC Henderson's resurgence continued with a double; and the wingers grabbed 1 each.
The Buffs will welcome the Leader to Abbey Park tomorrow and attempt to take over the lead.
A likely league challenger has been actively playing friendlies against us with a variety of formations all to no avail. So we took on their usual ND with 352V for a 7-0 win. It was ofc a meaningless friendly, to me at least, but maybe it will encourage indecisiveness. (Unfortunately that means we're probably not going to see his ND on the pitch in Round 8.)

I just dropped some that had turned into bots, with bot names and all.
Hello fellow managers! Back on the forums after deciding to tank my league last season. I did this because my squad was immature and needed a season to develop. Had I not tanked, i would have been been playing all 3 competitions with a 4* squad rated at a 5* cup level. I think that a double is achievable this season which is the pentultimate goal.
I had around 30 million banked and spent large for my level. 50 million on 5 new players lol. Barely double digit tokens atm, but not concerned. My 19T academy player was sold at the end of last season for a too good to pass up offer. He is currently underperforming for someone else lol. I've filled all squad slots but i am missing a true ML/AML but can wait for the right player. i've converted 2 of my mcs to ML's and one of them is finally getting 7s.
Notables, my most prolific striker went 50 in 50 season games for scoring last season and was sold after a hefty bidding war putting him 20% over value. Learning how to lose purposely taught me a lot about morale mechanics and formation theory.
My squad value is currently the highest I've seen at my level. 148m currently with an average age of 20. Solid Snake is holding down top player after 5 matches with an 8.33 rating.
Pics for those that don't like reading.

@Cat
After making a post in your team showcase "How my GK destroyed my season" , you must spend 1T giving
the guy a new name
Gigi Buffon (respect :o ) but suppose that Tim Howard fits more ;)
Palace Casuals' Youth Academy has just turned out its first striker! 12T, not sure whether to take a punt or not...
Attachment 46906
Schumaker, a good old English name...
The other hopeful has the look of a sign and sell, going by the way MCs were being sought after in my TM yesterday...
Attachment 46905
Talisman, I would sign if you need the money. He should be easy to sell at a good profit and will get more than going to the bank. Otherwise 12 tokens can get you a far better player.
Oh I *did* give him a new name (though technically he is the second one with this name on my team)
I use cyrillic so you can't tell:
Slobo Ilijevski - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia :D
http://bloximages.newyork1.vip.townn...review-620.jpg
Or did you mean Britten? I might rename him Backup Keeper.
I never use current players names on BvB, just because...I dunno I don't want a curse. :o
While the Management mull over the signing of the Youth prospects, the pro-squad was in action over in Modena, Italy against Modena FC. On paper looked like a typical David and Goliath battle, the home side being a level and 3.3 AQ better...
Attachment 46914
...but when the manager couldn't be bothered to turn up and they can't even half-fill their ground, anything can happen...

Set up to counter the home side's formation and with defend/counter orders, Palace Casuals more than matched their opponents in the first half, but fell foul of their recent tendency to concede a goal just before half-time, Shahdael poking a cross past the diving Zoltan Bieder in the final seconds before the break. One counterpart of the 'concede before the break' syndrome is the equaliser (and more) after it, and within 10 minutes of the restart, the team was happy that they had ensured that Omar Hansen had his set-piece boots with him. Johan Shaqiri was bundled over in the area, and Hansen took the chance with to equalise from the penalty spot. Final score 1-1, Palace Casuals take an away goal back to the second leg.
@Cat
I thought Slobo (with cyrillic name) was a newcomer. I was talking about him.
ok, I read about him, St.Louis, Steamers ...

I'm back: United news now with a superstar
Against a weak team we dominated, but two newly bought youngster almost outshined the playing manager. This as you soon will see was a three players game. But what a game

and the rating
Attachment 46925
This was a too easy a match to say anything, but not bad! :):o
Looks like Michael had a party while at the British Grand Prix.:rolleyes:
Rocket Hotspur are starting to move up the table after 2 wins in a row, this time a hard fought 2-0 win. We dominated, again, for the whole match, but couldn't break down a resolute defence. After yet another injury early on to one of our DMC, we brought on star player Kuong Seung in AMC, changed from 3W-2-1-2W-2, to a 3W-1-3-1-2, but it didn't make much difference. We still couldn't break down the defence so sacrificed all control in the middle of the pitch and switched it again to hard attacking formation, 3W-1-3W(all attacking mids)-2. It worked and our man Gozalbo came up with the goods again scoring from a towering header from a corner kick. It was 2-0 soon after as AMC Adam was played through and chipped it over the on rushing goalkeeper.
It's in to the cup, and I don't know how I'm going to beat this guy, he's 1* and1 level above, unbeaten this season. His bench is weak thigh so if he picks up some injuries I might have a chance. But I'm not holding out hope. We'll just go out and play our normal game, no point in defending because we will have to score at least once anyway.
Also picked up an achievement yesterday, although I'm not sure it should be called that.....
