Today FCK travelled to Poland to face FC Devils. The home leg ended 1-0 for FCK and was a pain in the ***.

Both managers continued with their tactic, but FCK subbed in Lindeborg for Reinebo, who saw yellow. Kneipenkick kept the opponent away from goal, but after an hour Nowak could break throught and Hassler could only stop him by foul - penalty. Suwala was confident, selected a corner, ..., but missed the goal by miles. The home team manager now threw everything up front with 4-2-3(W-AM)-1 (moved one of his ST to AM, rest by substitutions. FCK countered this tactic and brought Tonseth for Hassler. The opponent switched back to 4-4-2, with many player bad positioned. The match engine punished this BS and Kunz decided the match, 3-1 (77.).

So FCK in the next round, but 2 players with yellow cards (although normal mentality was chosen). :(

I know its not wrestling, but this is what it feels like, all those teams throwed into the hat and you just got to try and survive in the competition. I'm gonna fight on!!!

at the 1st day of season when i saw the new system of cup , I was disappointed , but now i think it is more fair although it is hard from 1st round but it is possible to win the cup ;)
1st game i paleyd with team from 10th level (my team at level 9 ) , I won 4-2 away then 0-0 home result .
nice start anyway ;)
this season my goals are ( the league , the champions & semi final of cup )
last season i got the league at the last game of season ( +5 goals Dif ;) from player didn't lose any league he played before :D

Guys, need your input on this.

Who do you reckon should get my last defender spot? I have Wrist and Silva to choose from.

Wrist is 5*(44) and Silva is 5*(41) but with aerial defender. So the usual.. Rating vs special ability.

Playing Wrist would shift Bogdany to DC but he won't mind.

I have normally gone for the all around quality but I have worked out that having a special ability adds a value of "+15" in the specialist areas are concerned, A penalty taker SA with 110 ability would be just as effective as a player rated 125 at taking penalties, A free-kick taker with 105 ability is as effective as a player with 120 ability without free-kicks ability when taking free-kicks.

If your opponent has a corner SA taker play Silva otherwise play Wrist.

Ah thanks, Wrist also plays as DML but when I play the butterfly, my back 3 will be Nightstand, Bogdany and Lamb, DMR will be Balbuena. So pretty much no space for Silva, he's a washed up ex-scout waiting to be sold next season lol

Same for Kompany really. They were first team players for 3 seasons, now in their 4th season they will mainly be used as a replacement for injuries. How long do you usually keep your scouts for? About 4 seasons in average, you'd say?

Wrist is the faster trainer and much younger. Silva is 25 and Wrist is 19. I think I've made my mind up now

Due to my crash and burn in the Cup I decided to go shopping.. :o

Things actually fell into place somehow. I waited all day to try and find an AMR and a Striker, and if a decent young 5* leftback appeared, I'd try and replace my 4* 19 year old DL/DML.
Still no Striker or AMR but I found Tiago Valente, 22 years and DL/DML and got him for 6 tokens and 2.59m while he was valued at 2.5m which I thought was ok. I put Sforzin up for auction (the DL/DML I had) and got 4.37m for him after having paid just 2.28 on the 27th day of last season.

Non-PT'ed 4/9 scouts can last 4 seasons at my club when bought at 22 normally, I just sold Essadri (GK) after 4 seasons, he was 1 point away from 5* at the beginning of this season, If I wasn't a heavy token buyer that I have been recently I would of kept him another season as a reserve. Murphy is now my reserve GK after we brought in the one and only David Seaman.

When you say non-PTed, do you mean just naturally like a bit of training every day and playing matches?

Surprisingly, I've had Jonny Lamb since level 1. He's the default young, fast trainer you get when you start out. He has a lot of life in him, 43 rated and might make scout this season. Fabregas, Suarez, Petersen, Bogdany and Silva and Kompany, I've had since level 2. This is why I like PT, keeps my players at the club for a long time and I don't usually have to buy new players. I've only needed to buy 1 scout this season (Norris).

I'm like you I like to keep a squad with the same players for a lot of seasons rather than rinse and clean the squad every season, If you can keep some players for a long time it adds to some realism of the game. I'm planning of doing the 'One Club Man' scenario with Miku.

I'm going to do the one-man club thing with Petersen as well. I'm keeping him when he's 1* and he's almost ready to retire, then I will play a testimonial with someone. He'll be like Giggs, might even score when he's 1* lol

I would probably think he may finish higher than a 1* player depending on development, what is he now? 25 years and 7*. Papaleo will stay at my club for sometime but I think Zidane may get sold in a few seasons.

I had some random guy support me in my cup match lol. I think I'm the only level 5 in the cup and he took pity on me, my opponent was a level 8 and I owned his ass. I don't think I'll win the whole thing but it will be amazing if I did

lol... Those formations look stupid to play. Too many players pushed forward and leaving lots of space behind in the midfield area.

He's 25 and 7*, about 60 something SP to the next star

You got to keep Papaleo, he's becoming a legend at your club

Yeah, and nobody reacts on the tactics of the opponent.

Taking a look at the other 1st round schedules I found AA (from my last league season). He adjusts his tactics way better than the upper scout buyers, but had very bad luck last season. He finished second behind me, and he also got runners-up in CL and cup. :( I remember in RL similar happened to Leverkusen in 2002. The club lost an almost save championship to Dortmund, lost in the CL final vs. Real Madrid and the cup vs. Schalke. Their player Michael Ballack even managed to loose the World Cup final with Germany, too. And afairc he even managed to get booked for all finals. :eek:
Leverkusen fought the following season vs. relegation (with stars like Ballack, Lucio -> Bayern gone). AA took the drawbacks much better and managed to qualify for the 2nd round. Good spirit. :)

If only.. But I couldn't push him to do any more when he was 8*, he was unbelievably slow. About 8/17/26 gain on average on hard training and usually 30-37 for a full match

Be interesting to see how he does against tougher opponents this season, his goal count will probably drop and I'll eventually be taking him off FK duties soon, maybe in 2 seasons time

I think you should try a proper FK taker SA player, you will end up finding the score more goals, Benayoun in my lower level seasons and It's Mensah now that scores all these free-kicks.

I might switch to Mata, he's a FK taker. Doesn't play every game as he rotates with Cazorla so probably Petersen as 2nd choice and will take them when Cazorla is playing.

Only thing is.. Mata's shooting and crossing are about 10 less than Petersen's, hence why I choose Petersen for FKs. You say specialists have +15 bonus but Petersen is also a corner taker so his crossing also gets a boost

Yes but I don't think there is that +15 effect or whatever it is for a corner taker taking a crossing into the box type of free-kick.

The team sheets have almost been finalised. I just need a DML/ML and I'm all sorted for the season. The new guy will probably be called Marshall Law

lol... Marshall Law... I hope one day you get a Papaleo or Zidane or any names of my players one day for Perfect Tactics. I'm planning on getting my own version of a Chano Petersen one day but the right player just doesn't show up on the scout list.

I have 2 Chano Petersen like players, Santi Cazorla plays anywhere in attacking midfield. Scores quite a few goals as well.. Steals Petersen's goals though...

That's enough scouts for me now. The players I have invested are a few SP away from scout level, they will be scouts or even 7* by the time I've finished rinsing them out with green health packs and intense training

1st leg of the cup tie, I was hammer 3-1 by a L5 at home then on the return leg I hammer him for 5 nil at his home ground to progress through the ranks. Yeah I'm feeling the adrenaline rushing now.

How many rest packs are you planning to use altogether? I might be using about 300-350 for this bunch.

I'm using about 700T worth here, started with 689T and had nearly 50 greens saved up from the end of last season. So we could be using about 800 greens in total.
