Champion's League, Matchday 5
Chile 0 - 9 New Team
4th straight away match for New Team's crew, this time unwanted guests in Chile, South America. With 10 points and the qualification already reached, Coach Mad's intent is of course to qualify both first and unbeaten. The last CL draw away with an impossible result was proof already of what deconcentration could do. That's why New Team approaches the match with 10/11 of their usuals starters. Left to rest Rob Denton, still not in full form. For the first time after numerous matches, Hutton, Lenders and Becker finally starts all togheter from the get-go. The usual narrow diamond faces tonight the quite affordable 4-4-2 on the other side. Someone qould call it a ista death, and they would be in this case, quite on the spot.
Ready go and Lenders gets the ball from Becker, turns around, and serves a perfect assist to Hutton, who shoots immediatly without even stopping the ball, leaving the Keeper stunned for the 0-1 (4'). Chile's players resumes the match with a bit too much of intensity: seems quite obvious that they planned to fight the match with hard tackles, trying to hinder the superior quality of NT. An ugly foul at minute 8 brings the DC Callaghan ahead for the shoot. Just right after the referee's whistle, what seemed to be a direct shoot reveals to be a scheme with a straight cross for the overlapping Paul Diamond, whose header pierces the goal (8'). The rest of the first half sees NT attempting the 3rd goal numerous times, with Chile's defense and keeper just barely able to contain.
At the second half's start, Coach Mad is already thinking of tomorrow's top match with Bakuretsu Storm, hence both Ross and Becker leave the field respectively for Pilkaer and the young talent Danny Mellow. The start is the same assault at Chile's goal as the first half. From one of the numerous corners, Hutton feeds a perfect cross to the upcoming Denver which shuts down the defense after so many attempts, 0-3 (48')! The frustration of not being able to react poses the basis for the 4th goal very soon: forwarding too much on attacking, Chile remains uncovered on the back, and a quick ball retrieval evolves in a lightining fast counter with Pilkaer running for over 60 meters the field and still able to see Denver overlap at the last second. Keeper beaten, 0-4, second goal for the DR today (55').
There is space for Rob Denton too, substituting Velardo (58') and acting as second central midfielder along with DIamond. Chile keeps playing poorly and at minute 60 risks to take another counter, this time by Callaghan. On the subsequent free kick, Mellows catches the ball half-way, and sees immediatly the keeper out of the goal. His shoots pierces through 30 meters of field just to flee under the seven for a marvellous 0-5 (64'). Hutton and the other seniors seems to be touched by the youngster's plays, hence decides it's time for some serious comeback: NT's captain catches a random ball, dribbles through 3 men and elegantly enters the area: just when the defender and the keeper are about to close on him, an awesome heel pass reaches Lenders who skyrockets the ball under the seven (67'). Four minutes later history repeats, this time on a wider scale. Hutton gets the ball at Chile's 3/4's, and pinpoints a long ball straight on Lender's feet. The powerful forward avoids his marker and directly shoots towards the goal, scoring twice today (71').
At this point Chile's players clearly lose it. The match transforms into a foul battle, with numerous yellow cards shown around. One last hard tackle gets DIamond's knee, injuring it. After having to calm down NT's members, the match resumes with NT in 10 due to exaushted subs. Nontheless, Callaghan gets off his rage laserbean-ing the free kick directly into the goal (79'). The whole team, who normally would slow down at this point, is pissed off enough to keep pushing seeking revenge for the poor Diamond. And Denton decides to dribble the whole midfield and defense of the opponents concluding with a magnificent volley which closes the curtains (85')
Statistics and post match:
Scorers: Hutton (A:Lenders), Diamond (A:Callaghan), Denver (A:Hutton), Denver (A:Pijlkaer), Mellow, Lenders (A:Hutton), Lenders (A:Hutton), Callaghan (FK), Denton.
MOM: Oliver Hutton (New Team)
-Diamond outed for 6 days, luckily enough this is NT's first injury of the season, and the clinic being not full employed will be able to cure well enough the MC and get him ready for tomorrows clue match.
-New Team reaches 13 points in the CL board: qualified as 1st with one match to play still; 22 goals scored, 1 against.
-Oliver Hutton keeps shocking with his plays: last 10 matches scores: 9,8,9,9,8,9,8,8,8,9; played: 13 MoM: 4 Goals: 11 Assists: 12. Considering half of his matches are made of playing just first half or second one, an impressive march.
Tomorrow's the big match, stay tuned :]
Another injured player, and my match isn't finish... I have 1 injured player on every match...
Addendum : Piqué is out 8 freakin days.
My local team is CELTIC NATION.
We've completed a hectic day, unscathed. First up was an away trip to Argentina for CL group match. We went into it, unbeaten, but in 3rd spot after 3 draws in the first 4 matches. The group is so tight though, that our win, now puts us top of the group.
Result: [COLOR="#FF0000"]ELHEAT FC 0-5 LONDON CITY
Goals: Morgada 42, King 48, Grundy 56, Morgada 61, Grundy 89
M.o.M: Hector Morgada
We got the victory that we really needed, but it was tough going at first. Despite dominating our hosts, we only had a solitary goal, from Hector Morgada, to show for our effort, at the break. But three goals in 15 minutes just after the resumption, from Teddy King, Solomon Grundy and Morgada again, put us in complete control. Grundy added his own second goal, right on the final whistle. Now qualification is in our own hands.
Twenty Six minutes later, we kicked-off our league game in Singapore. (Thank heavens for teleportation). Fortuneately, most of the team were in good physical condition, so we only had to make a couple of alterations to the team.
Result: VICTOR FC 0-2 LONDON CITY
Goals: Hughes 14, Edmonds 23
M.o.M: Mark Hughes
Irish right back, Mark Hughes opened the scoring with a header from a cross by Hector Moraga. Paul Edmonds added a second before the interval, with a tap in after good work from Dave Kennedy. We eased up after the break, as the lads began to feel the effect of the hectic schedule today, and there was no more scoring. The win leaves us 2nd, just one point behind our seasonal rivals. [OLOR]
Mark Hughes? I thought you didn't like players with famous names!
Ah! But my Mark Hughes is from the Republic of Ireland, and plays in defence. (He was like that when I bought him). Different person entirely to the real-life Welsh one. ;)
Talking of famous names, there was a player in my transfer list today called Graham Pole. I nearly bid for him because it would be handy to have a referee on my side. But he was only just turned 3*.
Champions League Round 5: FC Neubuz 0-5 Harrogate Town
Goals: Giel (10'), Daud (30', 74'), Blackstone (50', 84')
MOTM: Daud
Harrogate were all over there opponents the whole game. Town Manager David Winder decided as they had qualified it was a good chance to play mainly reserves and introduce the new right back.
It started early just 10 minutes on the clock and Giel cut inside from the right found a gap and fired past the keeper easily from just inside the box. The 14th minute saw Norris pick up an injury (red packs to recover after match). Then the 28th minute saw Bale injured (red packs again). 2 minutes later a clever cross from Cleverley saw Daud rise above his marker and head home the 2nd of the game. Town continued to dominate but couldn't score again before half-time.
The 50th minute saw Blackstone who came on for the injured Bale in the 1st half score from a Daud pass, the ball just creeping in off the post. The 74th minute saw our next goal when Iniesta who replaced Norris played the perfect through ball for Daud to get on the end of and chip the keeper as he went to feet to try and claim the ball. Then 10 minutes later Blackstone broke free beating 2 defenders and and deliberately side stepping the keeper and sliding the ball in to an empty net.
It was a good performance by the reserves and they all played really well. I was dissapointed with the early injuries but luckily red packs were here to help.

6.am can't sleep, the transfer market always like this everyday everytime...
Wow, that is a cool transfer market. On my server I am happy if their are more than three 5* players. :(
Use that transfer market wisely, it is like a gift. ;) :)
My Chuck Norris just got his first MOTM award after found the net twice on CL match.
I'm happy that we qualified to the next round.
But, unfortunately he's sent off again on league match and next league match we must visit #1 on their home.
At this moment, we're #2 (5 pts behind). If we lose, we'll have little chance of winning the title.
