Yesterday saw a good 2-0 away victory against Magnum FC to put me through to the CL final. A strong midfield and attack was not enough in either leg to mask a poor defence that was exploited in both games (They are top of their league having only dropped 4 points all season. However, looking at the teams in the league, they are all a good 10 quality worse than Magnum). My CL final opponent overcame a marginally stronger team to win 5-4 after extra time. Our average quality is well matched, with me having the slight edge. Should be a tough final.
Unfortunately, it was marred by a dire 2-1 home defeat against the now crowned league champions RobinHood (yes, they won the league by beating me. For shame. :( ). Looks like I'll be competing for the runners up spot.........................again.

I don't know... 3N-4-1-2 never works for us at all. We always seemed to struggle scoring goals with it, even with Miku, Michu and Papaleo playing, Maybe its just one of those formations that is deamed too offensive and were always having to back track to win the ball. Was a boring game this. Michu played a pass to Norris to put us infront on 16 mins and the other team never looked like scoring or anything and neither did we missing chances, the action all happened in the final 10 minutes when I suddenly switched to 4-4-2 and we suddenly went from 1-0 to 4-0 in the space of 5 minutes play to justify our dominance in the game, Papaleo with a solo effort beating a defender and slotting it past the keeper, Michu beating defenders wit pace and to strike it hard to beat the keeper and L.McNamara's shot being on target that was saved and out for a corner for only Michu to cross it in for Ramirez to score with the header.

For Fml FC, this is by far the biggest day of the season as they not 1 but 2 title games today. First game is the CUP final against a higher level opponent that hasn't lost a single game in their run to the final. The Hong Kong ''stingers'' had just won 5-0 against the league leader, an all Scout team in his league and found themselves 2 points behind 1st place. They are the best attacking team nearly double GF to the 2nd best attacking team. The whole team performs well especially their Star Striker, who is legend in our eyes, rating at 8.5/game and scoring ratio of 1.3/game, dubbed the Hong Kong Messi. We were not afraid but it seems impossible to keep a clean sheet against a player of his caliber.
Try to put behind our league title deciding game against 2nd place who's 3 points adrift off us few hours from now, we need to focus on the CUP final. This is more than just any final, there's national pride at stake as the REAL VietNam National team had fallen at MongKok, HongKong 0-1 last week during the Asian Cup group stage, despite dominating the whole match. Revenge is a must!
After many considerations, Fml Fc had brushed aside defensive mentality because after all, attack is the best form of defense. We started the match with 3-1-4-1-1 formation, with attacking mentality personaly instructed for our AMC Mario Goetze, wingers Bale and Suarez and South Korean pop sensation Psy, who's playing in playmaker role as DMC. To battle their strong midfield, we needed attacking mentality, short, quick passing all around the field to control possession. Also pressure was needed so I instructed the team applying the 6 second rules, and press the whole pitch using offside trap, sorta total football tactic.
The match started well, we were confident and controlled 60% possession and had many clear cut chances. Chinese movie star Stephen Chow skipped past the opponent's defense to face the keeper 1on1 but unlucky to clip the post in the 9th minute. The miss didn't effect us as we were very confident passing the ball around and in the 24th minute what comes must come. Pepe had a cheapshot on the HK Messi and while the lad fell to the ground crying, Pepe were free of defensive duties ran 80 yards forward to receive the back pass from the unselfish Goetze to open the score, 1-0 Fml Fc.
The HK stars showed more commitment after being down 0-1, and gave us hard time starting then. Fabregas was desperate and was booked in 30th minute for sliding challenge on HK Messi. Fans were nervous as Messi ran up to the ball but he failed to clear the wall. Both teams entered the dressing room with the score remains at 1-0 Fml Fc. During Half Time there were discussion whether or not we should opt for more defensive tactics hoping to catch them on the counter but we remain the same as we feel it was too early to be on the defense, simply was too dangerous.
Exciting 2nd Half as both teams played high-paced attacking football but Pepe seems like he was born to stop Messi, the HK starlet went missing most of the match as his team-mates also fail to have a shot on target. Fml Fc number 1 GK, Barack Obama was agitated with his lack of involvement of the game. When the game seems beautifully poised, Fabregas showed wonderful dribbling skills as he nutmegs 3 opponents and puts Bale on a free-run on the left flank. Bale with electric pace down the flanks and he rid of his marker with a heele-chop followed by a vicous shot and made it 2-0. The crowd went wild as the Cup title was ever as close. At this point, Obama forgot to celebrate as he was making a tweet. We were over confident and we almost paid the price. Again and again Messi made Goetze and Beckham earned 1 yellow card each, all in dangerous freekick positions just outside the box. Red and green lazers were shining straight into Messi's face glowing like Darth Sideous's light saber, the Stinger's ST had lost his cool and kept hitting the wall on both occasions. A sign of unprofessionalism, a pety, selfish and childish act of revenge.
The famous Hublot clock indicates 60' of play and with half an hour left, 3 of our midfielders all booked, it's time for tactical change. Lahm and Martinez came on for Beckham and Goetze, while Rooney replaced Chow up front as lone ST, changing to 4-2-3-1 formation, with defensive mentality and countering hoping to catch them on the counter as they need to push for broke. Immediately we were under heavy pressure as waves and waves of attacks rained on us. Michelle's husband had the match of his life as he stopped 3 clear cut chances with in-human reflexes. We struggle to get the ball out of our half but in 88th minute, Obama had inch perfect clearance pass to Rooney and he was quickly facing the keeper. The super-sub faked his shot and went around the keeper and easily puts it in the empty net. As he runs to celebrate, he puts his hands to his head to distress as his goal was denied as a defender had backtracked and cleared on the line for a Fml Corner. Wiping the sweat off his face, Rooney swings in the corner and Fabregas dives in to meet the head. 3-0 final score and the Cup was paraded around HK to piss them off.

I couldn't be online this last two days, but i still managed to win the cup at extra time against a team supported by other 7 friends. Not so lucky in the CL semifinal... Flett was sent off at 34 minute and I lost 0-2 at home (2-3 on aggregate).

The match was postponed by the opponents 10 mins before starting (i woke up for it), and coach Mad was at work when 4 hours later the match begun. Leaving the 4-1-2-1-2, we couldn t notice the opponents going for 4-2-2-2 the last mins. Nonetheless in the girst half w/o coach we could lead possession and score the 0-1 with Lenders. Getting him out for Mellow and setting a 4-5-1 V as coach Mad arrived granted us a wide margin in the second half, with Harper, Callaghan, Mellow and Diamond completing tbe 0-5 and the last one being MOM. Tomorrow the reserves will try snatch one point while thr main 11 will rest for the CL final.
New Cup System Mockery
This was the cup final for my cup in my server at L16... Infact all 4 semi-finalists were from Thailand (ignoring the pretend Spain nationality here, obviously from Thailand with a Thai Name.) and they all didn't watch any of their games either and possibly never bought any tokens either, come on, how are they deserving of cup success by not watching the games and not buying tokens?

Fml Fc moral is high after capturing the Cup. We are facing the 2nd placed team 3 points difference but we are superior on goal difference with +78 while they are at +40. With 2 more games after this, a win will give us 6 points lead and surely the title on goal difference. A draw is also enough as our last 2 games are against bottom league teams, there are no if's or but's, we got them 6 points in the bag. Even if we lose today's game there are no concern but we must keep our feet on the ground and it's a bonus to beat your rival and snatch the title right at home.
The opponent has Cup final in few hours and skeptical of his league chances after our amazing 15 straight league wins after a slow start including 1 draw/1 lost. Fml FC had conquered the Tourmalet of 6 straight wins against top 6 in a row and this is the last of it.
We also fielded our reserves with Sepp Blatter in net since he's against goal line technology. George W Bush Jr is central of the 3DC for political reasons. The middle 4 remains unchanged, upfront is Goetze in the hole and Rooney partners Ibra as the 2 ST. Using 3-4-1-2 against a Scout team managed by a young Isareli billionaire who is brilliant tactically but with our situation we can manage to take the risk.
We were down 0-1 before the half as we found it difficult to dictate play against hard tackling and high pressure. Beckham had a match to forget as he made many mistakes. I decided to put in Psy to back up midfield and I had to risk it for a DC. Now we dangerously playing 3W-1-2-1-3 against 4-3-3 but it seemed the gamble pay off as Psy did more than enough in defense and attack. The South Korean singer weighs a perfect through ball for Goetze to beat the last man only to be taken down inside the box. Although earning a penalty, he was stretched off leaving us with 10 men. Fabregas sends the keeper the wrong way to tie the game up but with no subsitution left allowed, we are using 1 DC against 3 very good ST, 10 against 11. Again I opt for attack and try to keep the ball in the opponent's field. 74 minute Rooney with a teasing corner kick and Stephen Chow as seen in Shao Lin soccer, tornado spins and burns the opponent's net. Amazing! We came back to lead 3-2 with 10 men. The clock hits 83 and I decided I can't risk it since hard defending for last few minutes should win us the game. Varane was shifted into central of defence with the former president while Beckham was pushed wide to the unfamiliar position. The momentum shifted immediately and Beckham on his off day lost the ball and Ronaldo was free on the left all by himself to put in a low cross and set up Khedira for the equalizing goal. 3-3!!! Tactically wrong decision by the Fml FC manager as the whistle blows. However we maintain the lead and can still afford another lost. A great match to watch!
Ibra, Fabregas and Chow got on score sheet. Ramos of the other team was MOTM.

As 4-5-1 V style beats 4-5-1 flat, 3-5-2 V style beats 3-5-2 flat. Specifically 3W-3N-2W-2. Reds on Dr/Dl only. Red on DMC too if you use it + 2mc, this if he has 3N defense. If he plays 3 wide behind you can sacrifice a ST for a AMC and play with 3 ams, mixed.Quote:

We finally ended our interest in the league title today, with this draw against the team just ahead of us in the table. Hector Morgada put us ahead, ten minutes into the second half, but we couldn't hang on, for what would have been a vital win, and Michael Hughes poked in an equaliser near the end. The best we can hope for now, is to leapfrog today's opponents, and take runners-up spot. The match was also a dress rehearsal for tomorrows CL final, against the same opposition.
Looking back over the season, getting just 1 point from the four games against the top two, has cost us this time.
I faced it lots on my alt account using 4-5-1 V and i never had a problem. Problem poses if you further motivate your AML/AMR making them act as almost lateral STs, or when you don't motivate your DL/DR s . That way you create a huge gape between DL and AML and DR and AMR and that's exactly where the motivated MR/ML play the ball. But having full pitch pressing with red arrows on defense and none (or blue) on AMs prevents that.Quote:

Asked my friend for a friendly using the reserve teams, we went half motivated 4-51 V vs Motivated 4-5-1 Flat.
As shown, apart from his goal near the end and a balanced ball possession, the HM 4-5-1V proves to provide more cover and offense ability.
We both played through flanks.

He had two occasions of which one was a goal (corner kick) and one was saved by the keeper.
I had about 5 chanches scoring twice, having the keeper save on Ulusoy (1on1), Lenders (FK), and on a corner kick.
