That's your choice then, but for me, I'll go for pure quality. Even if I had money to burn, I'll burn it well. I'm fine with a larger squad, I can still get any formations I want.

I think it actually save me money since I save on purchasing 3 players and maintaining them. Also better maintainance on the players since they be playing more. I thought about it, it's only time consuming and costly in the beginning, after you get a perfect team to your liking then only maintainance should be easy.

Game money is nothing much, and I can get any player I want for a handful of tokens on my server. It might be different when I reach level 25, but I'm fine for now.

With a smaller squad, though, I think you're relying on the same player to play more roles? Which means you're in more trouble if you're hit with 7 or so injuries.

Advantages of a large squad, cover from injuries, plenty of options, can change formations a lot.
Disadvantages of a large squad, not every player gets to play, higher wage bill.

Even if they don't play, they still develop from training. Is that much slower? A large squad also helps when rotating for two matches a day.

Nothing wrong with it... the still train and also you can play reserves in less important games, I used to play my reserves a lot on the old cup format when I played against easy teams, now we can't do that since the old cup has gone... =(

honestly I get injuries during training only, during the match its very minimal. 19 is the magic number because you play 11, got 8 on sub. You sub 3 and them 3 will be fresh to go again with your sub 8.

I don't get many injuries either, but we've seen the complaints on here, it could happen to any of us.

I've had 7 injuries this season so far but that is mainly from power training.
