Thumbs up Impractical special abilities of scout players

Imagine you had enough Token to spare to invest in new Scout player. Surely you would want one who can help you with the perfect combination of age, value and special ability. Well, I hope you are not playing Sever 25 because since a couple of seasons I noticed that the range of special abilities is quite narrow:

No goal keepers who can "stop one on one", no defenders who have the "barricade" ability, no "playmaker" MCs, no "one on one" strikers - for at least 4 seasons in a row. But you could set up a team that only does free kicks, corners and penalties...

Actually wondering who invests if that choice is so ... limited...

Don't waste your tokens on scouts. Buy young fast trainers on Auction and train them instead. This way your tokens are used much better, and the players last longer

it is now about 5-6 seasons when came the new scout list.
It's bigger, it's more expensive, but is almost useless as the previous edition.
I cannot believe that nordeus don't want to have some extra money/token by offering a list with super players.
A logic scenario is that they don't want to promote token buyers, who can buy a full 11 squad of top players, so they make random crap choices of players.

I bought 2 scouts at the same time many seasons ago. A pair of AMR AML, both have PK special ability which I consider irrelevant.
I did not used packs on them.

AML was 28 when bought, scored 122 goals in 132 games.
AMR was 22 when bought, scored 87 goals in 136 games.

Aging players bad? I notice aging players perform better in average years ago, and many agreed with their own findings.
Scout is no different as it turn out.

Only problem of older player is the lack of resale value (or the difficulty to sell them), which makes them extremely expansive to use compared to younger players.
My AML is retiring at the end of this season at age 32, while the other at 26 is relatively easy to sell (although he is still 5* so no reason to sell yet)...

do not buy scouts players , its a con .. rather wake up in the morning at 6-7am , get a Nordeus generated young player, train him and enjoy the season .... now when transfer market is so dead, you can get him for max.5 tokens , even less sometimes .... so than you have 60 green packs for that price + 2-4 years on top (if you sign 18yo - 20yo) players from well known clubs as AC Snowy, FC Unbelievable, AC Sturdy, FC Lucky etc. I hope this helps

For me, flaws of scouts are:
    -price in tokens
-wrong combinations of position and special ability (like DL shadow striker!!??)
-small difference between attacking, physicial and defence skills (eg. GK and DC shouldn't have strong attacking skill)
-not enough 3 position players on list

Level 26 Scout market - a few appropriate/useful SAs around (ST with 1-on-1 scorer, Tri-position AM with shadow striker, midfielders with playmaker), but otherwise pretty mediocre...

Any formation or tactics advice given is based purely on experience with my teams...

    yep, that's what I 'm talking about.

    A DML-ML-AML, F-K special ability
    a AMR-AMC-AML sudden strike ability
    plus
    A GK with one-to-one ability
    A DC , header
    A DC-DMC defensive wall
    A MC corner specialist
    A ST ,with one-to-one
all with a functionable special ability, all of them 22 y.o., with q04 or 09
    7 players X 69 T =483T
Those scouts could play the 1st season as 7*, the 2nd as 6*, the third as 5*-early 6* and another one as 5* players.
    So , it's 483T/3 seasons = 161T/season
Adding some 5* veterans or players from previous seasons, you can build a super team

Sounds easy....if you spend money in the game of course xD
