That's what the guide says but it sounds risky. I'll give it a try, I have more quality anyway.
Just now remembered I played 4-4-2 in the first leg of Cup semifinal, won 3-0. Whenever I have doubts I play 4-4-2. But that isn't really a counter.
You can field 3 DCs since he doesn't have any winger. Also I suggest to field 3 MC. So it turns out to be 3-3-2-2. I'm very afraid to ever field that, so another possibility can be 4-3-2-1. But then put red arrows on fullbacks since they don't have to mark anybody.

I have played with my second team with 3w- 3n- 2 (aml/amr) -2 for a couple of matches. Every time a big win.\
You could try 3w-5-2 v style instead 3n
Thank you. I've had bad experiences with 3w so I'll stick with narrow and hope for the best.
Had a few games this season against it, try mirror didn't work tried 3w-5-2v draw, didn't tried anything narrow, maybe ND or even a strong 4-4-2 will do too.
I can't play 4-4-2 but I can play a good narrow diamond but 3 in centre while he's playing man to man would worry me.
Well advice you not to play 3w as it doesn't work anymore, maybe 4-3-2-1 w , I never tried but it looks good
Maybe can the butterfly counter it. I have never tried that
