Atlético Kolkata Day 13 Report

A (belated) Merry Christmas! Today's gift is qualification to the last 16 after dropping out last season.

A 1-1 draw with Ubuntu FC away saw Atlético Kolkata qualify even before the other match is played, since we had better head-to-head record against Spartak FC (3-3 home, 2-0 win away). A free kick saw us concede a goal in the 22'. The equaliser (which was no less than a winner) came from a corner from A. Baert, a new signing:
It was headed into the goal by Hendrawan, who's now scoring goals. The final standings: A remarkable comeback. They deserved it.

In the league we cruised to a 3-0 victory as we carried on our away day. Brett headed Baert's corner in the 9'. Later on, Anis scored in 35'. In the 50', Andrew John, another new signing, scored:

Well, thanks. Started out with 4-5-1V. Possession 61%, 3 shots on target, 1 goal. Changed to ND at half time. Possession didn't change, 4 more shots on target, 3 more goals.

It's strange though. I feel like I should've had more succes playing through the flanks. He has 4 in the middle and only one on the wings. So why is it that ND works just as well?

It's a common mistake. 3 CBs vs 1 striker can often see your wingers passes blocked. AMC, ST, ST is more of a handful for the defence. 4-2-2-2 hexagon would also give 3 CBs a lot of trouble.

I don't know why, but I always have better luck with ND against these formations with a central line of players rather than any formation with wide players...

Game started negatively with my passing percentage below 80 so taking the ass mans advice, switched to short passing.
My team pressed the opponent back then out of knowhere my RB makes a B-line for goal to hit it first time from 40 yards.
This has to go down in history as one of my best matches. Tebily scored from the left wing (proper shadow strike)
Now onto Pitry. He's an absolute beast this season. I missed him when he was suspended, first game back he scores and assists.
