Atlético Kolkata Day 27 Report
Cries of joy and tears of happiness came from the bench as Sergio Portillo once again netted the winner of a final as Atlético Kolkata won their first ever Champions League trophy, 3-2 (aet). Arif got a brace as he scored in the 35' and 74' (assisted by John). But in the 83' and 89' the troll engine of Top Eleven equalised to take it to extra time — an extremely rare occurrence for our knockout ties (only the second time it happened.) And just before the close of the first half, a through ball by John saw Portillo score (who was the deputy of suspended Baert.) The boys won when it mattered the most (we lost to Ubuntu FC 0-4 and drew 1-1). This trophy would be memorable since it came from a dismal start. The unexpected silver trophy:
But the business wasn't over — we won 5-0 away later this day. John opened the proceedings by Anis' corner. In the 43' the defenders told hey, we also wanna score. So I gave them the freedom as Ahizi assisted Guerro. A foul in the box on Anis gave us a penalty, and the penalty stopper failed to protect the goal. Once again he striked from a free kick in 65'. And a minute before all this ended, John assisted Moore to get the 3rd blue. The troll pays visit to al fathir FC as they lost to a 10-man team. Now it's a wild-wild-wild title shootout — if he wins, then I'll have to win by 17+goals. If he doesn't win, then I'll have to win to clinch a surprise league title. The odds highly against me. Oh troll, please come now!
PS: I got an offer for a slow, young goalie. Smart guy, 1T was enough, I didn't wanna bother him more (guess he paid 10T):![]()
