Pre-season period should extend to at least day 1, that is the next level should be included, especially if promotion has been guaranteed. Signing players on day 28 is usually not appropriate, unless in the case where a team failed promotion.

In fact, the time left in day 28 after the last match should be a resting period.

Season Summary (Including A Small Review Of The 2016 Browser Version)

    Position in the League: 1st
    Cup: 1st

One of my two game accounts from last year was 'revived' at the start of week 2 of this season. At that time, the team was in the middle of the league, with 2W,1D, 2L . The initial aim was to qualify for the Champions League, using a limited budget. After some hard work, the team managed to challenge for the top 2 positions after a week or so. The team remained in 2nd-3rd positions, keeping the pressure on the leading teams, and finally displaced both of them.

The Cup was an easy tournament this time as it included a lot of bot teams.

The 2016 browser version of this game is much better. The 2D system is more useful as compared to the commentaries from the last version. Some past mistakes done last year using the previous version, where at that time it seemed that no tactical or football explanation could be found for poor player performances, loses or draws, were able to be explained with the help of the new browser version and the help of some other software. Users have a better view of what is happening on the pitch. In my opinion, the new training system is much better, and the new way of displaying the players attributes is also helpful. In others words, the 2016 version suits more the tactical type of manager.

It seems that there is also an improvement here on the forum; there is someone (Moi) that is checking the concerns of users, replying and so on.

    Atlético Kolkata Day 27-28 Report

Yesterday Kayis, David, Jorge and Klochkov, scored once each. Jorge and David assisted Thiago for his brace. That totals to a 6-0 win against the team that trolled us. After a slump in form, David bounced back with a 9.0 to get the MOM badge. Today at home David had a brace and Pirlo struck once to end the tight season, which had ended yesterday. Once again David had scored a 8.5 to be named MOM. The final standings: David ended first on the goalscorers list, and Thiago (not shown) is joint 4th with David on the assisters list. Kayis has been the most consistent Atlético Kolkata player:
Atlético Kolkata end of season stats:

    Win-draw-loss record: 18-5-5
    GF-GA: 77-27
Most appearances: DL/DC Klockhov, MC Garayar, DC/DR Jorge (27)
Most yellow cards: DMC Pirlo (5)[a bad example for a captain ]
Most red cards: We seem to have forgotten that even red cards exist, as no one was sent off this season.
    Most goals: ST/AMC David (19)
    Most assists: ST/AMC David, AMR/MR Thiago (8)
    Most MOMs: AMR/MR Thiago (7)

Congratulations to all treble and trophy winners!

Day 28 - Palace Terriers report.

Palace Terriers went away to 10th place for their last match of the season, and got 2-0 up at the break through Nikolay Radev and Alessio Doratiotto. When Doratiotto scored a third goal early in the second half, the Management decided to play a couple of players who would probably not feature in next season's squad, so striker Brian Horne (5*/65Q) and right-winger Declan McGranaghan (3*/59Q) were brought on to replace Sergi Hernandez and Radev respectively. McGranaghan then decided to make a case for retention for next season with a hat-trick of assists as Samir Gross and Onder Chamoun scored three goals between them in the last 11 minutes of the match. Final score 6-0 to the visitors.

Day 28 - Palace Casuals League report and end-of-season summary.

Palace Casuals played at home to 4th place, and expected a tough match as the visitors were trying to cling on to a Champions League qualification spot. The critical action came in the few minutes either side of half-time, as Maarten Wiegman first volleyed home a corner from Angelo Musto and then converted a penalty after the same player had been hacked down in the box. The visitors pulled one back 10 minutes from time, but it was too little, too late. Worse news was to come for them as the loss had, in combination with other results, pushed them out of the Champions League slots.

    Season 77 - Week 4-s33-league-hl-round-26.jpg

    End-of-season summary.

Palace Casuals started their 33rd season of Top Eleven at Level 29, and in the League, were one of the lower Quality teams, so initially, little was expected of them by the Management. It became clear after the first few matches, however, that some of the higher quality teams were not making the effort expected of them, and the Casuals quickly found themselves at the top of the League and embarking on a 14-match unbeaten run, as part of a record-breaking 22-match unbeaten run in all competitions. As the later part of the season went on, the teams below them were repeatedly taking points off each other, and a 2 point cushion at the mid-point of the season grew to an 18-point lead at the end of the season.

    Season 77 - Week 4-trophy-thumbs-up.jpg

In the Cup, Casuals fought their way past several higher Level teams before coming up against a Goliath team in the Final, and ended Runner-up.

    Palace Terriers End-of-Season summary.

Palace Terriers started their 10th season at Level 10, and were the joint second highest Quality team in the League. Having come up against, and lost to, the highest quality team early on in the season, Terriers then went on a record-breaking 32-match unbeaten run, including record-breaking 19 consecutive wins, in all competitions, keeping the pressure on the League leader, but they were very difficult to catch. In the end, Terriers only finished three points adrift in the Runner-up spot, thanks to the leader losing his unbeaten League record on the last match of the season.

In the Champions League, Terriers posted their third 100% Group stage in four seasons, and then progressed through to the Final, where they met their match and ended up Runner-up.

    Season 77 - Week 4-s10-champ-final.jpg

In the Cup, Terriers made steady progression through the rounds, posting good wins over higher-level teams, including one Level 14 outfit that just capitulated in the 2nd Leg after Terriers got a creditable draw in the away leg. The Semi-Final opponent proved to be a higer-level team too far, and Terriers bowed out after two 0-1 legs.

    Season 77 - Week 4-s10-cup-final.jpg

So after their League/Champions League double last season, Terriers end this season with two seconds and a third place.
